End Year Examinations

The End Year Exams for the both of you starts this week. Mei-mei begins today, while Ko-ko begins tomorrow. Here is the little one getting ready for the first exam, Music. We had to set up a table to place the mirror for the invigilators to be able to see your hands during the exams via Zoom.

This was the same set up for Ko-ko last exam, but this time his is with a second device. So you got to use his mirror while he uses the tripod with his phone connected as a second device.

For Primary, there was trail/mock exams to instruct the children on how to have the exams and also to check if there would be any issues before the actual exams. While for Secondary, there was one briefing from your homeroom teachers last Friday with the necessary instructions (including the need to wear school uniforms!) before exams starts.

I got the shock of my life as 10 minutes after the exam started, you walked into my room and said that you had finished the paper. I asked how many questions there were and you said 50. Faint.. can you even read so fast? But it turned out everyone in your class completed the exam within 20 minutes. Phew...

Then came paper 1 for Science, you also finished within 30-40 minutes. And again for Science paper 2, you even told me that you had read through your answers 2 times and you completed in less than 30 minutes. Oh well.. I hope you were not careless.
*Be strong, my heart.. this week is going to be a stressful one!

Turbo's Siblings

You found this snail on the patio one of the mornings while taking your morning break. And decided to take soooOooo many pictures of the snail!

On Wednesday we were harvesting the Pak choy we had planted for Ah Ma to cook and found another two of Turbo's siblings. You played with them for a while then one escaped and another was placed on the patio but later it seemed to have been "snail-napped" as it disappeared.

Photobombed!!

There were a good 30+ pictures of this child!

Close up of Evelyn's Father's Day Card

You searched Pinterest and found something that would make the "Computer" you had in mind more interesting.

You also improved on the idea by adding the insert:

Father's Day Weekend Celebration

We initially did not plan to cook. But on when we went to Jaya Grocer on Thursday, we saw clams and so we ended up cooking a seafood dinner on Saturday.

Daddy and I went back into Jaya Grocer early Saturday morning in search of mussels and ended up finding them in a shop outside Jaya.
Our Mussel and Clam pot
Garlic bread to go with the appetizer
Served in our bowl
New style of Pasta Marinara (Prawns, mussel and squid)
On Sunday Ah Ma decided to order food from Starview Restaurant. For dessert, I cooked Bubur Cha Cha for the first time.

Mei-mei had her "chewy chewy" because she wouldn't take the Bubur Cha Cha
Of course both "Daddies" got a handmade present from Mei-mei for Father's Day:
Update: Got this photo which was in Daddy's BETTER phone as Mei-mei put it!

At the Carwash.. at home..

Being stuck at home is no fun. And worst still since Mei-mei is below 12 which is not encouraged to leave the house, we had to come up with things to keep you entertained. Today daddy said his car needs a wash.. as it is filthy. So of course we roped her in to perform the task.

As usual, she played with water more than helping out, but she did have fun.. all dressed up in her (Ko-ko's) swimsuit.

Our 17th Anniversary Celebration

It was nice that our anniversary for this year falls on a weekend. Of course with the FMCO, we are not able to go out to celebrate. Luckily we have a live-in chef; a.k.a. daddy *grin*.

We managed to get nice cut of steaks as well as very large prawns.

Steaks drying out in the fridge
It's as long as daddy's arm!
We started the celebratory dinner with our appetizers. Both kids were obviously happy: Ko-ko with the mozzarella cheese while Mei-mei with her Iberico Pork shoulder on toasted baguette.

Then daddy went to start the barbeque; starting with the steaks then prawns, squid and finally the super big Portobello mushrooms.
Our dinner spread
Oh wow! Look at them steaks!
Close up of the prawns
All the food served tonight
Of course, we had to have the wine too
We managed to get a photo of the two of us together.. we rarely have pictures together.
Mei-mei also gave us some presents. This heart matches our outfits for the night: pink for mummy, blue for daddy.
We were also given handmade bookmarks: The black dog for daddy and tiger for mummy.. hhmm.. is mummy like a tiger????
It was a lovely celebration. No need to go out to some fancy-shmancy restaurant and yet we had great food and of course superb company.

New Location for Lessons

Just two minutes before your English lesson started, you decided that you needed to answer the call of nature.

And of course, you were smart enough to bring the iPad along. So since we still have the stool, this was your temporary study area! Gosh a new way of attending classes!

Luckily it as English lesson and Miss Joanne would start the class with some riddles.

.. although... at one point when you got excited and wanted to answer the riddle, you turned on the camera instead of un-muting the mike! But you said that you very quickly turned off the camera!

Sigh, please have a new practice cleaning the system at a fixed time so avoid this happening again!

Water Gun Fight

Today was a public holiday. We all just lazed at home (What else is there to do, since we're now on Full Movement Control Order?). Just before my usual Monday online session with Henri, Mei-mei asked if I wanted to have another round of water gun play with her. I said, ok but we'd have to wait for my PT to finish. She also asked daddy and Ko-ko if they wanted to join us. Daddy said he'd join us after his jog while Ko-ko didn't want to.

So after my session, we started our play. Daddy got back just in time while Mei-mei had gotten all the things we needed ready before my session ended.

Filling their "weapons"
Guess what the two of you were up to....
Lying in wait for a "victim"
Aha! The victim is within sight! Yup! It was Ko-ko jogging on the road

After attacking Ko-ko we resumed play...

Under attack by daddy

Ok, then play time was over. Time for a warm shower then dinner:

Steamboat Dinner

The menu for tonight is steamboat. We tried to keep it simple so we also added some vegetables (pak choy) from our garden). It wasn't a lot, but it's something that we're proud of.. being able to eat what we grow.

While harvesting our veggies, I found a snail in our veggie patch. Aha! The culprit behind our holey veggies. And we decided to keep it (or else I was planning on squashing it!!)

Here you are labelling the container where the snail is kept with leaves
Here is our veggies
Ta-da! Our dinner is served
