Makan Day

Today is a public holiday, Wesak Day. So after daddy got back from the driving range, we headed out to eat something different. Traffic was bad at many places near the Buddhist Temples. We finally made it to Chapel Street Cafe.

After we were done, we decided to check out Choux Choux, a relatively new cafe (opened by the same owners of Two Frenchies) to check out their French pastries. Once we were seated, we were given these complimentary Madeleines. Interestingly they were the savory type.
We ordered 2 tarts along with our coffee.
We added another order French Brest which was also delicious.

Then we headed home for a siesta.

Return of Ugly Olli

You wanted to cook your Aglio Olio, so after dinner last night, we dropped by Village Grocer to buy the ingredients. And here you are preparing the tomatoes and ham.

And look at how you try to stand as far away as possible from the flame!
This is my portion of the Aglio Olio. I had added pepper and grated cheese to it. Yummeh!!

Happy Birthday, Nanna

This weekend, Alex Ku-ku and Ah Kim also made the trip back to BM to surprise Nanna for her birthday. It would be the first celebration after Grampy's passing. He didn't want to leave her alone at home.

He went out to buy roses for Nanna for her birthday. He bought 20 and had 18 of them in a bouquet for Nanna while Ah Kim and I each got 1 rose. It was an expensive purchase as it was Mother's Day weekend.

My rose

Nanna of course had to have her photo taken with "beauty mode" set to the max *laugh*

Dinner was at Neighbourwood. And the food was spectacular:

We went home after the yummy dinner. Then it was time for cake:
Then we had to head home. Our little camper was still tired from lack of sleep the night before.

First School Camp

You had not requested to sign up for the BBGB Camp, but one day you came home and told me that Ms Jasmine had asked if you were interested to join the camp. When I asked you back, of course the answer was a "yes".

So you signed up and today is the day of the camp. We decided to have you come home to shower after school before heading back to school to stay overnight. The teachers were very good in communicating what to pack to wear and bring. I let you pack your stuff on your own.

Except that this morning, daddy asked me to double check what you had packed. Well, you brought everything you were told to.. which did not include your water bottle *laugh*. You had to pick an abandoned bottle at the lost and found, give it a good wash and use that.

Packed bag along with the sleeping mat

One of the parents shared this grouping sheet

It rained later in the night and so you all managed to have your campfire that evening. Some parents also shared photos below:
We arrived on time at 10.30am to pick you, but they were just finishing up with the prize giving program followed by collecting the phones and signing out before heading home.

Found out that you'd only slept for 3 hours that night.. with the rain and having to move from sleeping outside to into the tent and probably chatting with your friends.

Glad to hear that you had fun.

Abigail's Birthday

May is a month of celebrations. This is the second birthday celebration for the month. Abigail turns 18 and they had the party in "Ayataya" in G Hotel.

We even had our place seating:
The reverse mentions her 18th birthday
The theme for the day is white and yellow. So we all came in the colour theme (or as close as we could get)

There was lots of food (and alcohol). And we finished off with the cake cutting:

Happy Birthday, Abigail!

Audrey's Birthday

Today is her "Jungle Themed" birthday party. It was a luncheon and lots of food were served. We all arrived at around 1pm per the invitation card.

We went in 2 cars so that Ah Kong would be able to go home earlier (he would get bored from sitting too long in other people's house). So after the party, Ah Kong, Ah Ma and Kakak headed back home first. We then left at around 5.30pm as everyone else also had other plans in the evening.

Happy Birthday, Audrey!
