Face Accessory

We picked you up early from school on Friday as I had made an appointment for you to see the ophthalmologist. You had been complaining that you could not see well, especially on the left eye. So best to get it checked for any other eye condition instead of just going to the optometrist. We had a quick lunch first before going to the eye center. After checking for power, and scanning the eye, the doctor confirmed that it's just myopia. 

But since you are still growing, she proposed we give you daily eyedrops (twice per day) to try to arrest the power from increasing. This would need to continue until you turn 15. As for Ko-ko she says that he's safe as he's already 18 years old.

After we'd finished up with the eye center, we headed to an optometrist shop in Pulau Tikus. There you picked your glasses (purple, obviously) and had a quick check to confirm on the eye power.

Today, I received a call informing me that your glasses are ready. So we headed there after picking you up from your ballet exams. 

You have been very excited and looking forward to wearing your glasses. Perhaps it's because daddy sold you the idea that you now have a "face accessory". So happiness for you to be wearing the glasses.

Grade 4 Ballet Exams

Today is the day of your exam. For once, you do not need to miss school since it's a Sunday. We arrived just before 1.30pm and the school is already calling to check whether you'd be arriving soon. Left you in the ballet school and came back later to pick you up. Shortly after I arrived, you came out of the "exam" room. You were excitedly telling me that the examiner was an Australian lady with an accent you found difficult to understand. And you even made a mistake, but luckily she was looking down when that happened.

Italian Dinner

We decided to bring mei-mei out for something nice, Otto Pizza. You've put quite a lot of effort studying and revising for the Checkpoint which completed yesterday. So here's your reward:

A day of yummies

Daddy's golf visa was not approved today. Better still, Mei-mei had no piano lessons today. So it's the perfect day to go to the cafe. We had to pick a new location since Ko-ko said that we always go to Chapel Street. And he'd just gone to Urban Daybreak 2 days ago. 

So we ended up trying out Yolk.pg. Turns out to be a pet friendly cafe too, much to Mei-mei's happiness!

Daddy's big breakfast

No lunch for us (as this was brunch). But we did stop by Mon Delice to pick up some cakes. Ko-ko said he didn't want. But when he got down, he could not resist picking his favourite Caribbean cake (passion fruit flavoured). 

Dinner is dumplings. Tonight I wrapped over 200 dumplings in total: pork, chicken and cheese fillings.

Replacement Chefs

Ah Ma had to run over to Uncle Sin Chuan's place as Tou-tou was not feeling well. So who stepped up to cook tonight's dinner? Master Chef Daddy along with his assistants. As we can see in the photo, there is Ko-ko stir frying the meat, and daddy preparing the squid with his little assitant. 

As for me? I'm on standby (when the assistants run off) and while assistants are around, to photograph everyone 😜

Pasta Night

Whenever you come back, daddy makes your favourites.. Of course, this is everyone's favourite too.. Spaghetti Carbonara, Garlic bread and wine. 

Today we had 1 variation less to cook: the pork free portion for Kakak as she is off today since it is Hari Raya and she'd taken the day off to spend time with her friends. 

Busy Day

This morning, we had so many things to do. And as expected, you forgot that you needed to wake up early to follow us out to drop Mei-mei then to do the long list of items. 

After dropping her in school, when asked what you'd like to eat, you asked for thosai. So we headed there to eat our breakfast then headed to the Georgetown JPN to see if we could get our IC done earlier (our appointment was for 8.30am). And we did. So we were done by 8.40am. What do we do to while the time away until 9.30am? Most cafe's were not open until 9am. Finally checked and found that Kafka was open. So we headed there to have some coffee (and to use their clean toilet *laugh*). When daddy walked out, he spotted the delicious looking cakes. So we ordered so cakes too.

Then we headed back to JPN to pick up the IC. Next was UOB to sign and get in your application for a supplementary card. Next was to pick up my contact lenses. And then we finally headed home. 

We all took a nap and off you went to be the driver of your friends. You had more on your itinerary: to meet up with more friends in Wesley and then head to Gurney Plaza for lunch and bouldering. We're rather apprehensive to let you drive on your own.. but you insisted that you are ok. Had to remind you many times to drive slowly.. 

Ah.. well for us, we continued with our other errands: groceries (in Jaya Grocer and then back to Village Grocer in Queens Waterfront). Dropped our groceries at home then went out for lunch.

Finally home for a little rest before heading off to Gurney Plaza later for our gym sessions.  

Another Round of Birthday Celebration

Here we go with another round of celebrations. This time we booked Hygge. Could not decide on whether to drive or to go by Grab as parking there is usually quite bad. In the end we drove there and daddy parked in the nearby open carpark.

Hungry Boy is Back

Flight got postponed a total of 5 times. Finally home and eating Ah Ma's homemade burgers.
