Origami Fun

My workplace had a "Health at Work Week" last week. And one of the topics shared was on folding origami. Kids were also invited, so we both spent the time in the green room last Friday trying to follow the instructions from the Master origami teacher.

Bedside Table

 

You decided that you also needed a bedside table. So you took my shoebox and made it your bedside table. Then after getting the bites, we decided to sun your bed toppers. Instead we took the other spare mattress and put it on top of the existing mattress. Now you have a "Princess and the Pea" bed which is too high for your bedside table. 

So you propped the table up higher with some books you found and ta-da.. a bedside table which matches to your new bed height. 

Love your creativity and ability to think outside the box.

Ko-ko was kind enough to entertain you and be your photographer. And yes you are wearing an Elsa costume. You love to dress up when we eat on Saturdays.. sorta like a special occasion.. since we cannot go out to dine. 

Miss Moon-Face

Something bit you and this time on the chin. Your face got so distorted and from the side it looked like a crescent moon. The inflammation on your chin also probably caused you to have a fever. 

Yesterday I made an appointment to see Dr. Mary, but as I had to inform them that you had a fever they asked us to wait for Dr. Mary in the ER. Seeing that it was such a high risk place, and we will be there for quite a while being exposed to who knows what, I decided that we'd just skip seeing her. 

Luckily the inflammation had burst before we went to the hospital and last night, you also allowed daddy and I to press out as much of the puss as we could.

Today, your face is less Moon-face like. Almost back to normal. I'll need to buy the Vitamin E oil to heal that wound on your chin. 

Jigsaw Puzzle Mania

I had bought 2 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzle during the sale in preparation for the summer break. So here we are with the first jigsaw. We started last Monday and worked on it every night, only taking 3 nights off on Friday till Sunday as daddy and I were recovering from the 2nd dose vaccination.

And on Tuesday, we finally completed the jigsaw.

So.. is it time to start with the next puzzle? We should be able to complete it before the end of your summer break *grin* 

Lamb Steak

Today I had to wake you up early as you had said the night before that you will be cooking the lamb we had bought. I had removed the 2 pieces from the freezer to defrost so that it would thaw just in time for you to cook. 

After several attempts (fewer than usual) to wake you up, you were up and ready to cook your lunch. We had leftover baked potato which you had with your lunch.

Looks like you're getting better at cooking lamb. And by cooking them yourself, you get to eat the elusive lamb which otherwise won't be served since I am not particularly fond of eating lamb. 

 

Weekend Dinner at Home

Tonight's menu is a simple spaghetti carbonara. We started out abit later than usual since we know quite well to time the cooking for dinner to be served just on time at 7pm. But after cooking up the meat, we had to turn off everything since Ah Kong was still in his condo management AGM. 

At 7.20 we started up the flames again as it was late and we could not wait for Ah Kong anymore. So here is our dinner:

As for Ah Kong, he had to eat his carbonara and wine in his room while attending the AGM (*whispers* it's supposed to end at 4pm!!).

Today we also made Milo ice-cream which needed to wait for a day to freeze before we could try it out. I also made waffles to freeze so that anyone can have it when they wanted. to. 

Daddy tried out a waffle, complete with whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream. 

What the kids have been up to.. till now

Up till today, Mei-mei has managed to do about all the items listed in your holiday calendar tasks. And I realised that you are sending the pictures to Miss Anna too. She has been very encouraging to you on keeping busy over the summer break.

Today, Ko-ko will be cooking his lamb and we will be having movie night per Mei-mei's holiday calendar.
