Day 3: A Road Trip to The Great Ocean Road

We tried to get as early start as possible as there would be the Monday morning traffic to battle as we drove towards the start of the Great Ocean Road. 

After driving for a while, we stopped at Bells Beach. Both for a toilet break and lunch. Daddy wanted to stop at a restaurant only to realise it was closed after parking the car. So we walked to Bells Bakery and there was discovered the yummiest meat pies (and many other choices too).

We didn't manage to find a toilet so we drove a little further to enjoy the view and finally also found the toilets.

The view was just spectacular. We made many stops along the way. 

We also stopped by Anglesea for the fantastic view (and flies). Haha.. Ko-ko was sooo annoyed with the flies. 

Here you are both enjoying the sand. But it sure was hot! Made a note to myself to buy sunscreen when I had a chance. 

Next stop was Aireys Inlet where we stopped to enjoy the lighthouse and the view. When we parked the car, we were shocked to smell something weird. We could not identify the source and was worried that it was coming from the car. The smell was there even when we walked back to the car after vising the lighthouse. Daddy decided to drive a slight distance from the carpark and stopped to sniff again. Turned out that the smell was coming from the caravan parked next to us!! Phew.. 

We were too hot after that to make more stops. So daddy just parked for a quick photo of the Great Ocrean Road Memorial Arch (photo taken from inside the car), then he continued driving to Apollo Bay.

We finally arrived at our home for the next 4 days. The Dolphin Apartments. It was a very nicely decorated and well furnished unit:

Soon it was dinnertime and we walked to the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse. We'd already done our research on places to eat and visit before this trip. And we had taken a drive earlier to buy groceries and find out locations.

Went home to relax and then rest for the night. 

Day 2: Lazy Day in Melbourne

We met up with daddy, Nat Kor-kor, Ashley Kor-kor, Uncle Martin and Aunty Karen at Eastland. Uncle Chee Meng drove us there and left the car keys for us to go home after that. 

While the gentlemen ate at the food court and the ladies shopped, the rest of us headed to a burger joint, "Grill'd Healthy Burgers" for Wagyu burgers. Mei-mei was given this page filled with farm animal pictures (the animals had names) and then we found "Ollie".

We seemed still exhausted from travelling and not in the mood to go shopping. So we stopped for coffee while the 2 kor-kor and Aunty Karen went to buy some things for the wedding. Uncle Martin also joined us for drinks:

We went to Nat Kor-kor and Uncle Ollie's new house. Here Mei-mei discovered the trampoline. Yay! But I had to stand nearby and remind you to ensure that you only jumped in the middle. Not going to risk you being a flower girl with a black eye!!

Dinner was Vietnamese at our favourite Minh Long near their old house. Then we headed back to Uncle Chee Meng's place to pack up for our road trip and for a good night's rest

Day 1: Hello Again, Melbourne

By the time we exited the airport, it was late afternoon. The drive to Uncle Chee Meng's house took another 40 minutes or so.

We arrived home to the yummy fried beehoon cooked for us by Aunty Fiona. We unloaded the car and quickly tucked in the food. Rested a bit and soon daddy was off for Uncle Ollie's "stag night".

Aunty Fiona whipped up another yummy dinner for us at home (we were too tired to go out) and soon it was evening and time to sleep.

Daddy stayed over at Natalie Kor-kor's house that night was the party was expected to end late and he was all ready to help bring Uncle Ollie home (which he managed with the help of Uncle Martin). 

We're off to Australia.. again

As the weather was so unpredictable and also it was a Friday evening after working hours, we requested the transporter to pick us up earlier. He also opted to come a little earlier, worrying about the possible traffic jam. But despite the dark clouds, we were lucky to have a rather smooth ride to the airport. Oops.. now we're too early. So we found a place to sit in McDonald's and ate an early dinner while waiting for the check-in counter to open. When it finally opened, the queue was extremely long. We finally checked-in and headed to the departure hall.

At the Singapore airport, we had a few hours to wander around. So you and Ko-ko tried out some of the attractions while we waited for daddy and Ah Kong to pick the wine to bring to Australia.

Once we got into the flight to Melbourne (we sat two by two: Ah Kong and Ah Ma, Daddy and Ko-ko and Mummy with Mei-mei). This was the nut free meal which was not eaten as Evelyn slept almost immediately after the flight took off. It was after all 2 a.m., way past your bedtime. 

We arrived the next day to a hot and sunny Melbourne. 

Cookie Day

As you love rummaging in the fridge (namely the chocolate compartment), you have been spying the bag of M&M's for a long time. So on Saturday, you asked to make chocolate chip cookies where you wanted to add the M&M's.

So here we are, making the cookies:

Lantern Festival

It was the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Uncle Sin Chuan and Aunty Amy hosted it in their house with a potluck. It was followed with a walk around the block for you kids and parents.

The Top Komtar

It was a long weekend for us. And since we didn't do anything earlier in the holiday, we (ok, ok it was me who bugged daddy) decided to bring you both out for some fun. It was between Entopia and The Top Komtar. 

We ended up going to The Top for some indoor fun as they were having promotional price due to the Merdeka month. 

This allowed us to enter and take all rides (except for the Tech Dome)

What a Week

Woke in the middle of the morning because I heard Mei-mei... amd you were vomitting in your partially sleepy state!  Both daddy and I got up to bring you to the bathroom, to let you finish up then to clean up both you (yup a shower including hair wash) and your messed up bed (which thankfully had its own protector).
We finally stumbled back to bed and slept till it was time to wake up to get Ko-lo ready for school. After that we continued to sleep. 

You woke up with a fever and so the whole day was spent making sure your fever was under control.

Two nights later as you slept in our bed, you decided to bomb the bed. Thankfully you were sleeping on your chest. You were having diarrhoea throughout the day due to reaction to the paracetamol and also wind in your tummy. I had woken up to check on you for fever and found the "explosion" instead.

On Sunday night, you were whinging in your sleep and I asked you to join us in bed thinking that was what you were whinging about. Instead you decided to vomit again. Daddy heard you this time and we had no choice but to let you vomit all over your pillow. This time while I showered and washed your hair daddy had to fight with the bed to change all the sheets as there was some which splattered on our bed. But after that incident you seemed fine.

Reminder for Mummy

You informed me the moment I got home that you were to wear school t-shirt the next day due to some event in school. Went to your room later to pick clothes for the both of you and found this:
