Paper Thosai

Yesterday we woke up a little earlier to go out to Little India for thosai breakfast. You willingly woke up to eat it as you missed it.

It was taken in 2019. Funnily, you're wearing the same shirt in both photos!!

I'm pretty sure there should be one from 2017 when you were having lessons in British Council.. but I'm unable to find it.

Funny Things I Find

I had emptied out your purse at the beginning of the week and today, I had some time to clear the little pieces of paper which were in your pocket and I discovered these cute little drawings:

Had to take a picture of all of them. I later found out from you that you and Yuen Ting drew them to play "Charades". Very creative. I love that you have a good time in school with your best friend/sticky glue. 

Bedside Table

 

You decided that you also needed a bedside table. So you took my shoebox and made it your bedside table. Then after getting the bites, we decided to sun your bed toppers. Instead we took the other spare mattress and put it on top of the existing mattress. Now you have a "Princess and the Pea" bed which is too high for your bedside table. 

So you propped the table up higher with some books you found and ta-da.. a bedside table which matches to your new bed height. 

Love your creativity and ability to think outside the box.

Balloon Kitty

You had asked me to buy you white balloons for a while. It was intended for my "birthday present". But I'd forget and when I finally remembered, my birthday had passed and there was no white balloon. 

Anyhow, I also got you another pack which had white balloons, but it was heart shaped. Today you took one out to inflate it. Just so tiny and then you decided to draw on it.

Ta-da.. here's your little kitty. Proud to say, you did a nice job. It's so adorable...

Umbrella... and Clogs

 

Found this photo and had to laugh. It was drizzling and you wanted to look at Nanna's plants. So we found a purple umbrella (joy! Your favorite color) and out you went... wearing the clogs. Yup, you seemed so happy to pose with the umbrella and loved wearing the clogs.

Every once in a while you'd want to go to the back again and would get upset if Grampy wore the clogs. Actually, it's also my favorite to wear when going to the wet kitchen. There used to be 2 pairs, I guess now with only Grampy wearing it, Nanna did not buy extras to keep. 

So I asked Nanna to buy you a smaller pair if she sees it. She reckons the clogs cost more than the slippers which she keeps at the back. 

Happy Birthday, Sammi

Sammi the fish was missing for a while. Kakak buried her under the mattress when she changed the bedsheets in your room. Daddy and I searched high and low and finally found her under the bed. Poor thing.

Last night we realised that it was her birthday (as written on the label). But it was too late, and so we agreed to make the birthday cake the next day.

Summer Break

Mei-mei made this for Ko-ko and he was supposed to only open it on 1st August. So today Ko-ko opened it. What does he say? "Our holiday started earlier than 1st August". Sheesh.. what a party pooper. She just wanted to send you a happy message about the school holiday. She was so disappointed when she told me Ko-ko's response. Sigh...

I had asked you to do some BM homework while waiting for lessons to begin. But you did not want to do it. So you found some printed work I had printed earlier during the MCO and asked to fill this up instead.
When your lessons started, I took a look at your answers.. really loved the answers you filled up for the last 3 sentences. 

Someone Sneaked Into Our Room

Oh dear.. footprints! Looks like someone came into our room while we were out for dinner!!

Hey.. it's Stanley Bear and he brought you some things.. and friends...

You look so excited as you crawled into bed to check your second surprise for the day...

Our room steward, James is amazing. He was all ready to get to room ready for you as we left for our evening plans. You can really tell a lot of effort was put into the set up of the room. 

Breakfast Guest

It was the day at sea, but we alll woke up early for breakfast. It was a special breakfast for Mei-mei (and I) as we were dining with someone special. 

I told her that we would go down first to the Allegro dining room. But instead of having breakfast with everyone else, we had breakfast with Stanley Bear. 

You were so happy when you spotted him.. squealing "Stanley Bear!!!!" and giving him a big hug. Your smiley face says it all:

 As this cruise did not have many children, it turned out that we were two of the 4 guests having the Stanley Bear breakfast.

Came home from work with a belated birthday cake from my colleagues. The moment you saw the cake, you promptly declared it to be Dora's birthday. It's a good thing we always have spare candles so Dora gets a birthday cake with a candle.
