Melbourne Day5: Exploring Camberwell & Southbank

We started the day later (again) and headed to Camberwell where we met Nat Kor-kor for lunch. It was a simple bakery which served coffee and yummy sandwiches. After lunch, we stopped at the Bonds outlet and then hopped back onto the train heading to the Flinder's Street station where we hopped off and walked to Southbank. We didn't really have any plans, but they were quickly made as we spotted a river cruise. So we bought a ticket and boarded the boat 20 minutes later.

This is our ride:

We sat outside so we could not hear the captain's narrative, but it was nice weather outside.

Sometimes it was quite cold. Especially where daddy and Ko-ko sat. Mei-mei and I were relatively covered from the cold wind.

Took a picture of the inside of the boat. The captain coincidentally was Uncle Ollie's friend, Captain Chris which we found out later.

Spotted the "Evan Walker Bridge" during the cruise. So we later walked on the bridge and took a picture:
Of course, Mei-mei also had to have her picture taken.

Spotted the Ponyfish Island bar during our cruise too. Daddy quickly checked if they allowed kids which they did. So we stopped for light snack and a drink or two or three.. *grin*.. while waiting for the night to come.

Then it was time to head towards Crown Casino for the hourly fire display:

Headed into the casino area to walk around too. Daddy wanted to have a quick tour of the casino so we waited outside. Here are the two of you bored while waiting for daddy.

Took him a while because he had a quick round which he was lucky and won some money.. which covered our snack at the bar earlier. Went out for a final round of the file display then headed home.

As there was no dinner plans, we left you kids with your aunties and uncle and headed to Monash Pizza, the pizza joint which we used to visit while studying there. It has changed / modernized a lot!

Et voila.. our pizza. Er.. looked like it had shrunken in size since our uni days. Taste-wise.. wasn't too good either. Looks like we'll be trying out other pizza joints next trip.

Melbourne Day4: Lazy Day

It was a lazy day which started late. We lazed at home and then headed to Doncaster to meet 5th Chim Poh and Chek Kong, Kor Poh, Ryan and also his maternal grandparents for Dim Sum at Golden Dragon Palace.

Later on, we headed to Ryan's house to drop him and his grandparents off while we went to Forest Hill Shopping Center to buy the raw ingredients for dinner: Steamboat.
Best weather to eat steamboat in is when it is cold outside. Brrrrr...

Today was the day spent doing something for you kiddies (and us too.. we loved to visit the zoo when we lived in Australia).
