Day 10: More Sun at Fort Napean and Back to Melbourne

Plan for the day before heading back to Melbourne was to visit Point Napean. Here you both are goofing with Uncle Ollie before getting into the car for the drive.

And here we are. Apparently we were going to Gunners Cottage. And someone said it was just a 1km walk.
*turns out we WERE at Gunners Cottage (it was the carpark!!)

But it was sooo hot.. as it was already noon by the time we arrived.
Here are the both of you with the multi-purpose recycle bag

We'd walked for over 1km and many of the older folks were getting tired. So we stopped at the next bus stop and waited for the shuttle. As you can see, the Ban clan took up most of the seats in the bus!!

Seaside view.. so beautiful:

We're at Fort Napean. Look at the view behind us:

No access to the beach. May still have bomb from World War I.

This marked the first shot from Fort Napean for the Allies during World War I:

Of course, Mei-mei also had to have her photo taken:

We were all hot and hungry and just on time, the shuttle bus arrived to bring us back to the car. Hopped into the car and headed to Portsea Hotel where we went to the restaurant at the hotel for lunch. Here we are taking a picture with the octopus which Mei-mei had spotted when going to the restroom with daddy.

Lunch is served:
Nuggets and chips for Evelyn

Salt and pepper calamari

The Portsea Parma

Evan and his spaghetti

Our beautiful oysters

Evelyn chasing the seagulls

We left the clan there and headed to Melbourne. Dropped the family home then wanted to go buy some groceries. In the end, we decided to go for a drive to Clayton where mummy and daddy used to live. Finally found our house on Dixon Street.

And there is the Malaysian Garden where we went for char kuey tiau (when desperate.. ).

And Wah Kee which we didn't really liked, but went there often for dinner:

And this is the (new and relocated) Hong Kong Supermarket (Asian grocery store) which we frequented during our uni days.

Dinner that night was a simple meal of rice (wow.. we all missed rice) which Aunty Fiona cooked and we all KO-ed for the night.
