We're at Old Town Tallinn

The night before at dinner, we were reminded again by Alvin to go to Tallinn. As we had researched up ahead, it was recommended that we just went on our own to walk around Tallinn. Ah Ma did not want to join us and so Mei-mei got to stay on the ship at the Tree House with Ah Ma having the pager, just in case they needed to contact someone.
We had our leisurely breakfast at Allegro and then back to the room to pick up our stuff, drop of Mei-mei and then to get Ah Kong from his room.
Just as we exited the ship, we saw that there was Hop On, Hop Off, but we decided not to take the bus. So we walked and found our way to Tallinn Old Town. Uncle Alvin had tried to give us directions, telling us to look out for the McDonald's but we never found the McDonald's. I guess we entered the Old Town from a different direction.
Finding our way to the Old Town
In the end, daddy had to turn on his Google Maps so that we wouldn't spend too much time and energy getting lost. And ta-da... we found it. Here's the entrance:
The town was just so interesting. The buildings were well kept and beautiful.

Dome Church Tower
KGB Museum
Towers and wall around the town
Town Square
Cobblestone road
We spotted this church, St. Nicholas' Church as we were looking for the public toilet. So beautiful:
We all took pictures with this beautiful building "Alexander Nevsky Cathedral"

We wandered to the lookout point (Toompea Hill) to have a view of the whole town:
View from high up

We just wandered around to enjoy and be amazed by the architecture of the place:

This was outside the town
We found this in the town square as we headed our lunch location. Heavenly roasted, flavored almonds. We bought 3 packs and tried them over lunch. Then found that they were so yummy, we headed back to buy more. I had to carry them in my jacket pockets as they didn't give any bags and I didn't bring along a recycle bag (didn't expect to do any shopping).
Definitely the BEST in town!!
We headed back to this brewery which we saw on our way into town this morning. The Beerhouse. We were lucky that we found a table along the walkway. That way, we could enjoy the view and the food.
Our beer and Evan's juice
The very yummy almonds
To-Die-For Pig's Ears
Will-Die Spicy Estonian Mustard
Pork Knuckle which we thought was such a large portion
Well.. I guess we were hungry. (and of course the knuckle was just so moist and yummy)
Another round before hitting the road (back to the ship)
We had walked off, but headed back to get a photo of the restaurant
Too much liquid and we needed to get back to the ship fast, even though we had used the toilets in the restaurant one last round before leaving Tallinn. Oops.. the boys could not wait until we reached the ship. Luckily there were public toilets at the terminal.
We took a rest and agreed to meet earlier before dinner for some pre-dinner drinks.. and to share the roasted almonds.
And of course.. here's our scrumptious dinner:
Prawn Cocktail
Evelyn and her burger
Heavenly creme brulee
No time for other dinner pictures. We quickly dig into our meals as they were so yummy.
