My Family

You found these cardboard cut out of boys and girls and asked if you could have some. Then you took a pencil and drew hair and facial features on them, telling me they are mummy, daddy, Ko-ko and you.
To my surprise you thought to join your family together buy using glue.
The next day you asked for 2 more as you wanted to add Ah Kong and Ah Ma.

Day 4 : Time to Go Home

It was time to head back to Ipoh then Penang. We ate a leisurely breakfast, then cleaned up and packed before loading the car. We drove for not more than 5 minutes when we were hit by a traffic jam. Unfortunately, the jam lasted a very long time. What would usually take 1.5 hours to reach Ipoh took us 4 hours to finally reach Ipoh, with us all sooo hungry.

Luckily you were both quite well behaved. Lookit the happy faces:

Mei-mei fell asleep just before we reached the toilet spot. So you could not nap after that. As it was too late and most of the shops in Ipoh were closed, we ate Maggie Mee (much to the delight of the both of you.. ) for our late lunch.

We left the house to have an early dinner with Chim Poh and Chek Kong before heading back to Penang. Again, the traffic back was horrendous! Took us almost 3 hours to reach Penang.

What a tiring trip. But we sure had loads of fun.

Day3: Lazy Day

Today we decided to take it easy and relaxed. After a relaxed breakfast and to get ready, we all packed into Chek Kong's car and headed to Brinchang to the usual shop for lunch. It was crowded so we had to wait a while and then finally got our table to have lunch.

Went back and daddy decided to bring Ko-ko for a walk to the waterfalls. You had fallen asleep (lucky else daddy will end up carrying you most of the way), so the 3 of them (daddy, Ko-ko and Ah Kong) headed to the waterfalls which turned out to be a waste of time. Sadly, it was very dirty. People had left their rubbish at the waterfalls or it washed from higher grounds. So the place was messy and smelly.

As for us, Chek Kong went for his own walk while Chim Poh and I stayed at home as you napped:

When you woke up, we tried to go to this place which Chim Poh said had a beautiful tomato plant. Too bad the shop was closed, probably due to it being the first day of Hari Raya. Then we headed back to the apartment and walked beyond to the playground.

Here you are having great fun:

Dinner was back again at the same restaurant. Followed by clearing up the rest of the last piece of steak and corn.

Day2: Going Around

We woke up to have a leisurely breakfast then got ready to go out. The plan was to pick strawberries so we headed to Healthy Strawberry Farm which we visited before but they said that not in season to pick. So we took some pictures before leaving:
We tried our luck at another place, Kok Lim Strawberry Farm. Yay. They had strawberries to pick. We had 800grams to pick.
Here's daddy showing you how to pluck the strawberries:

Ko-ko plucking strawberries:

Posing with the first strawberry:

We wnded up picking around 600grams of strawberries so we went back to pick more. We ended up with 1 kg of strawberries.  We paid for the excess and left after buying something for Mei-mei.

Then we headed to Cameron Valley at Bharat Plantations for lunch. We had some scones, tea and light snacks:

Before we left, daddy brought you kids to the tea plantation for a walk:

Went back for a rest and nap after that.

Day 1: Cameron Highlands

We all woke up early and quickly got ready to leave Penang. We planned to stop by Ipoh house then go off for breakfast. Met up at Ipoh to offload some of the things from our car then we headed to K10 for breakfast.
After a yummy breakfast, we started our journey to Cameron Highlands. We had 2 pit stops. Once to wee wee and another to buy the "pearl" corn.
The journey to Chek Kong's house was not too long. Traffic was very smooth heading to Cameron Highlands.
As they had been up just a month ago, the apartment was quite clean. So we quickly cleaned up a little, put on the bedsheets and we were good. While the adults cleaned up, the two of you played on the tab and laptop. Yup.. despite being so far away from home, we could not keep you away from the electronic toys!!

While we relaxed and enjoyed the cool air at home, daddy went off with Ah Kong and Chek Kong to the golf course. Daddy just went with them for a ride and he jogged back tot he apartment.

Dinner that night was in the chu char restaurant which we usually visit when we're up in Camerons. We even went around looking for some elusive Hello Kitty pillow which you had seen on our way up, but could not find in Brinchang nor Tanah Rata.

Happy Father's Day

I made this card in school and in Friday, Mrs. Teoh let me bring the card back for daddy. I could not wait till Sunday so I quickly gave the card to daddy the moment he came home from gym. He was so happy.
Then he spoilt my card. He thought that I wouldn't notice there was 2 button instead of 3. Luckily he didn't lose the button. I tried to stick it back with Ko-ko's glue but it could not work. Mummy had super sticky oosh oosh glue and now the card is so beautiful... that's what my daddy said about my card.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.

Pizza Day

We'd bought a light lunch today after dropping Ko-ko off at school for Wushu. So I decided to top up with pizza since we did not plan to go out in the afternoon.
We went home and you helped me prepare the ingredients for the pizza base.
We left the dough to rise while we went to pick up Ko-ko and also buy a cake for Kakak.
We had our lunch while waiting for the oven to heat up. Then we all made our own pizza. Ko-ko of course, made his with all the different type of cheese we had in the fridge. You on the other took my suggestion to put strawberry jam as you were not a big fan of cheese. But you did ask to add a slice of cheddar in the end.
Remembered to take pictures of you both preparing your pizza but forgot to take a picture of the end result as we were too excited to eat the masterpieces. Yummy...

Tinker Town

What a busy weekend it is for you. Today, we did not get to sleep in again as you and Ian were signed up for Tinker-town at Oenang Science Cluster. What we thought to be a long event turned out to be estimated to be for an hour.
So after dropping you and Ian, daddy, Evelyn and I went to drive around abit and finally decided to park and have a drink at Yin's Pizza while waiting for you both.

Here are you kids goofing for the camera whike waiting for lunch to be served:

Time to Escape

Aunty Amy invited you to join them and some friends to go to Escape at Teluk Bahang. So early yesterday you woke up and got ready and off you went with them to Escape.
It sure was a long day.  Aunty amy called to ask if it was ok for you to have dinner with them at Hard Rock Cafe. You told us that you had a good time and ensured that you did not pick something too expensive off the menu (you picked kids fish and chips). We're proud of you for your good behaviour and you also thanked them when they dropped you back home.
Here are some pictures which aunty Amy sent to me of you having fun:

A Fishy Story

Told you to take a nap and after a lot of persuasion / threats you finally fell asleep. I napped with you and shortly after I got up (to clear out your closet) you woke up.
So we proceeded to cut the mouth (which became the tail) and them start to paint.
After dinner, we put on the eye and the tail and ta-da... our fish is done.

Teacher's Day 2016 : Evan's Gift

You on the other hand had a simple request: to buy a red pen. So yesterday after Wushu we stopped at Tesco to buy the pens from Popular Bookstore. We ended up with 3 pens; one for you, one for Cikgu Goh and one for Miss Lim. You made a simple card to attach to the pen.
When I asked about your gift to Cikgu Goh, somehow it ended up with Puan Keng your form teacher. You apparently changed your mind although you had rejected my suggestion yesterday that you give her 1 of the pens. But no matter what, you only gave 1 pen to the teacher and refused to give yourpen first even when I had promised to buy you a new one today. Sigh...
And poor Miss Geeta did not get anything from your classmates. I hope she got some nice presents from other classes.
Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers, current and former who work hard to grow and educate our children.

Teacher's Day 2016 : Evelyn's Gifts

Mummy had scoured Pinterest and finally found something simple to do with you for your class teacher, Mrs. Teoh. Ah Ma had helped me get the egg trays to make this craft. The initial plan was just a card for Mrs. Teoh but in the end while you had your nap I found some simple ones for you to do.

We only had tine to start painting in the evening after dinner. You painted while I put the finishing touches to your "flowers".
Then you picked the pom poms and pipe cleaners for the flowers.

This is your card for Mrs. Teoh. Ko-ko helped to decorate the grass and background for you.  I also got you to write your own name on the card. I think it's a very beautiful card which you both made together.

These are the flowers you made out of egg carton, pom pom and pipe cleaners. You gave them to Miss Beh, Jamie Che-che, Miss Khoo, Mrs. Tan and Mrs. Sebastian.

This is a close up but blurry shot of the flower:

A Day at the Park

Obviously was a fun day for the both of you. Ko-ko got to ride his new bicycle and you got to play on the slides and swings, run around and also cycle.

MSSPP Wushu Tournament

Today was a long day . We woke up early, ate breakfast got ready then headed to MSN which thankfully is literally just outside out housing area.
The initial plan was for us to drop you. But you seemed rather nervous so I stayed on with you and Ah Ma went back home.
It was quite a wait. Luckily you brought your books and my phone was fully charged.
Finally it was your turn. You were number 124, just about the last few to compete. You got a score of 7.50. We were told to wait for the results as there would be a finals round. So we ate the grilled cheese sandwich while waiting. The results were out and since you were not in the finals, we headed home to rest.
You stayed home to eat lunch while we went out for a quick lunch. Then headed back to MSN again. This time you were second to go. Thank goodness as we estimated at least 160 participants for this round!!! You scored a little better this round: 7.63.
We stayed around for a while, even having ice cream and since you second round score was not high enough also, we headed home to aircon comfort... phew.
No matter what, we're proud that you had tried your best and that you also represented your school for the Wushu tournament .

Spending Time

Today after dropping Ko-ko for Wushu,we headed to Tesco as Ah Ma wanted to buy butter. So while she went up to Tesco you got a ride. This was what you got:
Biker Princess Sofia

Then as Ah Ma wasn't down yet we decided to have something in McDonald's. We shared a Milo and you ate a hash brown while waiting for Ah Ma. As you were enjoying your hash brown, you said this to me "Thank you mummy for spending time with me. Today just the two of us spend time together".
It's nice to treat you and to have you so thankful for such simple treats. We should go out and do more girly things together often. You also kindly reminded me to spend time just with Ko-ko as well...

Artist at Work

This was from your party pack at Abigail's birthday party. As I was off today, you insisted that we did some painting today. So here you are painting:

So focused , don't you think?

And this is the end result.

I was tempted to paint over and make it like it should but on second thought, I decided to let you paint as you like. I kinda like your artwork.

Mother's Day 2016

You told me that you didn't want to nap yet. That you wanted to make me a bracelet for Mother's Day.

In the end... yup asleep and no bracelet to show...

Luckily though I got this beautiful card which you gave me on Friday and wished me "Happy Mother's Day Card". Hehe....

Most adorable card which is now safely in my handbag to be brought to the office.
