Haircut

Today you finally had your hair cut. You had asked for a while, but we just could not fit in the time to go to Uncle Austin's. You wanted a layered cut. Telling me about a "fox cut" and a "butterfly cut". Uncle Austin actually told me that it would not suit your fine hair to have it layered. But since you wanted a layered cut like your friends, I told him to go ahead and give you a layered cut which would suit you.

This time around, you had "the works". The session started with a hair wash by Mei Ling and then a cut by Uncle Austin.

Hair all in a towel after being shampooed

You seemed happy with the cut. Took a photo to show you the layering after the cut:

Ballet Exams and a Haircut

Luckily your ballet exams fell on a weekend. We dropped you off for your hairdo after having done a Covid test (you were going to take the exam unmasked). Then we later picked you up and headed straight to Uncle Austin's for a haircut for the 3 of you.
Heavily gelled up hair
Since your hair had so much gel, you got to have a hairwash in the shop:

Then it's time to cut your cair. Can you see how much was cut off? Look at the longer strand versus the cut section:

Here is all the hair which was chopped off!

Looks New, But Still the Same Monkey

As your ballet exams are now over, we finally bought you to have a haircut. You had requested for your hair to be cut just below your ears. But in the end, Uncle Austin did not cut it so short.
Daddy was initially very shocked to hear that you really wanted to have your hair cut so short. But after the cut, he agreed that you looked nice in the short hairstyle.
You were so excited as you would be going to school the next day (after a weeks' holiday) and that people may think that you were a new student. Well this is what daddy had to say: Looks like a new girl, but still the same monkey *grin*

Haircut for everyone

Daddy had his hair cut the day before but on the next day, since you both went in for a haircut, he had Uncle Austin to take off more of the sides so that there is a distinct difference (like the footballers.. yup, it's World Cup season). This is the outcome:
Mr. Grumpy disliked it so much

Missy as usual had her fringe trimmed

Daddy's didn't turn out as cool as Mr. Grumpy's hair

Haircut Again

As usual it was time for Ko-ko to have his haircut. This time, you also needed a cut and not just trim your fringe. The hair at the back is getting quite long and it irritates you when you eat... especially when the fan is blowing at you.
So many days before we went for your haircut, mummy had no prep you:
Mummy: uncle cut hair for you,ok?
Evelyn: ha (that's how you say "yes")
Mummy: will you cry?
Evelyn: no
Mummy: can you move?
Evelyn: no

But of course after asking too many times perhaps you got bored so you teased me back by saying "ha" with a cheeky smile.
I'm glad to say that you behaved really well during the haircut and you look very nice.

This is your before and after picture:

Haircut Day for E and E

As both you hair was getting longer we decided to bring you to Uncle Austin's for a haircut. Ko-ko requested for a hairwash, just like how mummy and daddy get ours washed before we get our haircut.

So while waiting for Ko-ko, Mei-mei had hers cut. As usual, we had to give you my phone to keep you preoccupied while Uncle Austin cut your hair. You were a good girl throughtout the haircut. Here's your before and after shot:

As for Ko-ko, here he is with his hairwash and then haircut:

Evelyn's First Haircut

Your hair has finally grown longer. Not very much, but it was getting uneven. So today since we were free (Ko-ko had no music classes) we went to Uncle Austin's shop for all of you to have a haircut.
As we wondered how you would react to the haircut, we decided to let daddy and Ko-ko have their hair cut first.Showed you how it was fun and no pain to have your haircut.

While waiting for your turns you and Ko-ko had a lot of fun playing around the shop. Then it was your turn. You sat on the high stool which Uncle Austin kept. He tried to put the cover on you but you did not like it. So you had your haircut and it all stuck to your shirt. It was all over quickly but I had to give you my phone and turn on some kiddy songs on You Tube so that you'd look down and Uncle Austin could trim you hair properly. It was over so quickly that I'd not even gotten a chance to take a picture or video of you having your first haircut.

Evan's Haircut

Brought you in to have a haircut right after school. You asked daddy if you could have you hair styled like what daddy called "chicken head". Obviously that would be a problem in school.  But since school will be over in 1 month's time, Uncle Austin gave you a cut which would eventually look like what you request for when it grows longer. Let's see how it goes.

New Hairstyle??

After a bath, I will dry your hair thoroughly and you'll always make sure that you flatten your hair while I like to make it stand. Looks so cool.. What do you think??

Had to make sure the picture was not a full body picture *grin*. I like your hair this way.. And you smiled nicely for this picture.. although picture quality was not very good.. used my phone's camera.

Haircut day

We tried to see if you could get your haircut the day before, but Uncle Austin was busy. So Ah Kong and Ah Ma brought you to the shop the next afternoon as Ah Kong also wanted to get a haircut before we went off.

Daddy and I had lunch around that area, so we decided to head to the shop to see how you coped with your haircut.

As always the time get your haircut was very short and you coped very well. You saw quietly and rarely moved while Uncle Austin cut your hair. We left after that and you played with Ah Ma while waiting for Ah Kong to have his hair cut.
Good. Now you are all ready and handsome looking for our holiday.

No More Tempurung Head?

Your hair seems to look like "tempurung head" when it grows longer. And your hair seems to grow long very quickly. You'd just had a cut before we went back to Ipoh last month. Now you need another one. So since Monday was a replacement holiday, we headed to Uncle Austin's place for a cut. Daddy also needed one.
We had to wait a while until it was your turn. I changed you into your "haircut t-shirt and shorts", then daddy had to help me hold you while you had your hair cut. You didn't make too much of a fuss throughout the process and soon you were done. We sat around until daddy's cut was done then off we went to pick up Ah Ma who was waiting for us in Annabelle Che-che's house. We went to Gurney Plaza for a quick kai-kai before heading home.
Phew.. we have another month before you need another haircut.

Haircut Again...

It's that time again, the dreaded haircut. Ok lo.. it's mummy's fault that I wanted you to have a nice haircut rather than have it cut using the electric razor. Daddy reckons it's stressful for you since you make a big fuss almost everytime we bring you for a cut, which is very often too.

Usually, I'd prep you for the impending haircut days before the actual cut. This time, we just decided to do it on the spur of the moment. You see, you (actually it's "we") had a lie in until 9.45am. How come? Because it was the Hari Raya holiday and Ah Kong and daddy had already left for golf and there was no construction next door to wake us up. So since you seemed to well rested, daddy offered to bring you to Uncle Austin's for a haircut, after we'd had lunch.

Since you didn't seem sleepy and we could only bring you for haircuts during holidays or weekends, we tried our luck. Daddy called Uncle Austin and he said that it was a good time for us to go. We needed to make sure, since now that we've moved, the shop is a lot further from our place than before. So off we went. I had to talk to you to make sure that you didn't doze off, even prepping you for the haircut, asking where you'd like your hair to be cut. You'd respond to me, touching your head left, right and top saying "here, here, here".

We arrived and had to wait a while before it was your turn. So daddy took out his phone and took a "before" picture. See the sides.. it's so long, covering your ears! And your after shot. Cut looks good?
To our surprise, the haircut was a breeze. Everything done in less than 20 minutes! You sat happily on the highchair, strapped yourself in and sat quite still while Uncle Austin cut your hair. There were times when we had to hold you to make sure that you didn;t fidget when he was cutting some parts of your hair. Otherwise, it went so well, Uncle Austin even joked that it was a pity it was Thursday, otherwise he'd buy lottery since you were so co-operative! Your fringe is a little shorter because you moved and he needed to "rectify the problem". Otherwise, the cut was good. Should be able to last another 2 months.

Haircut Day

We're tired from all the travelling and late nights but we decided to bring you to Uncle Austin's for a long needed haircut. Yvonne kor-kor mentioned that your hair looked too long. Don;t I know it...

So we unpacked and left the house at around 5p.m. for Uncle Austin's. When we arrived, there were 2 customers there, but we had to wait for almost an hour before it was finally your turn to have your hair cut. Daddy had planned to have his hair cut too, but changed his mind after waiting for so long. You were quite happy playing around and mummy had to ask you a few times if you were ok cutting your hair. You happily said not scared, cut here-here-here... Took Ching Ern's mummy to get you "prepped up" for the hair cut. And it sort of worked.

By the time your turn arrived, you sat quietly on the high chair while your hair was cut, but only for 5 minutes. When you noticed some hair dropping on your arms, you got upset and in the end, we finished the rest of your haircut under protest and in mummy's arms.

Haircut again

It seems like you keep going for a haircut. What to do.. we want you to have a haircut and not crew cut using the electric clippers (ok, ok it's mummy.. daddy would happily let you have a crew cut). As usual we left work at 5 sharp went back to change into comfy clothes. Ah Ma had already told you that you were going for a haircut. In fact even before that I kept telling you that your hair was already long and needed a cut. You'd reply with a firm shake of the head, indicating NO HAIRCUT. But mummy would continue to tell you that Uncle will cut your hair. He even cuts daddy, Ah Kong and mummy's hair.

As usual, when we arrived at the shop you indicated that you wanted to go home. But after a little persuasion, mummy sat down on the chair holding you. You whined a little, but no loudspeaker so far... So he quickly snipped a little here and a little there. You struggled a little and got a but agitated as daddy had to hold your head still while Uncle Austin cut your hair. We had some che-che's help hold your hands too to make sure you stayed still. I had to distract you to ask you where che-che or aunty was..

But it was all over in less than 15 minutes this time. You were all sweaty from the stress and the stoplights in the shop, but definitely a handsome little boy with the new haircut *grin*

All cheerful again after the haircut..

Getting Ready for CNY

It that time again. CNY is just around the corner and one of the things that needs to be done: get a haircut. Hehe.. we all need a haircut. In your case, it a little more stressful. Then again, maybe it should be considered stressful in mummy's case too. I'm still wondering what to do with my hair. Cur? Perm? Trim?

Anyway, we've been putting off your haircut for way too long. And sometimes when we finally found the courage to bring you to Uncle Austin's place, he's got too many customers. And we don't want you to scare them off with your volume. Hehe...

So today, we left work a little earlier to try our luck again. And daddy called ahead to check if the shop was crowded. Nope.. nobody around. But Uncle Austin was a bit worried about giving you a haircut, as he's accidentally snipped a little kid last week on his ears. Sigh..

As always when we arrived, you didn't want to get into the shop. Luckily daddy told me to carry you, otherwise, we'd be standing at the door. In the end, mummy had to coax you to "wash your hands" to get you agree to go into the shop. When the time came for your haircut, you struggled a bit but suddenly stayed still when Austin started to cut your hair. Hhmm.. so he quickly snipped here and there.. And he stopped to take out the electric clippers and oh boy.. what a mistake! You started to make noise and struggle until the end.

Thank goodness all was done in less than 30 minutes. Of course, mummy needs to put in some work to cut some of the stray hairs that he'd missed. But... better than letting mummy cut.. Look:

Time for a Haircut...

Haha... you must be thinking "again?!". No.. actually time for daddy to have a haircut. But we proceeded as planned and brought you along to watch daddy have his haircut.
We arrived at the shop after 6, but Uncle Austin was still there. Phew.. luckily. But guess what? You were happily walking along the corridor when we stopped in front of the shop. You obviously can recognise the place as you immediately stopped dead in your tracks. And flatly refused to enter the shop. Daddy tried to coax you to go in with him, but you didn't want to. Mummy had to carry you in but you kept making a lot of noise and insisted that you wanted to go out. So we stood in the heat outside for a while. But in the end, mummy carried you in again and after some noise, you gave in and willingly sat on the sofa.. away from the area to cut your hair!
Mummy had to take things slowly to convince you to go nearer so that you could see daddy having his haircut. After washing your hands I managed to get you to sit on the little chair, nearer to daddy.. and you seemed interested to see what was going on with daddy. You were also interested in the hairdryer.
We didn't manage to let you have a haircut today as there were other customers in the shop, but hopefully after this round, you'll be better next time.

It's all Over and Done with

Your hair is getting longer by the day
A haircut, is what you badly need
And so to Austin's we went today
And as he cut, you screamed and kicked.
It took 3 to hold you to get the trim
Such a grueling 30 minutes it seemed
When all was over,
You looked handsome as ever..

Haircut Disaster!

We have been putting off taking you to the hairdresser. Firstly the Bumbo was in the condo and we have not been to the condo for a while. Even when we did go, we forgot to bring it home!

We finally remembered to bring it back on Sunday. So the initial plan was to bring you for a haircut on Monday, but unfortunately mummy and daddy left work a little late. So we planned to leave work early today and bring you in for the haircut.

When we reached home, you were upstairs playing with Kakak Wati. So mummy dressed you and off we went to Uncle Austin. This would be your 4th time seeing him. I was hoping that this haircut would go as well as your last one. I could only dream. You sat willingly on the Bumbo but the moment Austin started cutting you hair and he let it drop on you, you started kicking a big fuss! Sigh... So it took us almost and hour to have your hair cut.

But it was a disaster. He had to stop occasionally to let you calm down from crying. The last cut was the end of it. You moved suddenly and the hair on the back of you head is now uneven. *sigh*

Ah Ma thought that you looked ok, but she exclaimed loudly and insisted that we took you back for another haircut. Sigh.. if only it could be so easy.. I think you already have a phobia of getting a haircut.

So mummy tried to do some damage control. Hehe... snip some of your hair while you were sleeping just now. But the gap is still rather visible. I think I need to snip another round or two more!

Evan's First Professional Haircut

Dear Evan,

Your hair has grown long and you've got missing patches of hair on the sides. So we decided to take you for a haircut today. He's Uncle Austin, mummy and daddy's hairdresser. So we know that you are in good hands. He is a professional and he'll give you a wonderful haircut.

So there we went, right after work. We had a lot of things to bring along: your Bumbo seat, the video camera, the digital camera, your change of clothes along with the trusty diaper bag, which has your milk, diapers and many other things.

You seemed happy and contented when we arrived at the shop.Until you saw him coming with the scissors. Look at the "dirty look" you gave him:

When we started, you were seated in the Bumbo seat while mummy took pictures with the digital camera and daddy was with the video camera. In the end, mummy took over daddy's role as the camera lady while daddy had to hold you when you had your haircut! You'd started screaming at Uncle Austin! Amazingly, he is a very patient man. He took his time and let you have your say to him at every interval.

After that, you behaved as if nothing happened. You happily let anyone in the shop to carry you. Perhaps you feel more comfortable with the short hair, instead of having them poking you everywhere.

And here you are looking so very handsome after the haircut and a bath:

More pictures of you after the haircut.
