Venturing Out

You had told daddy earlier that you were afraid of going out due to the Covid-19. Finally today, he managed to persuade you to follow him and Ko-ko out for a walk around Jalan 15 & 16.
And when you came back from the walk, you asked Ah Kong to let you play with your scooter downstairs. He even moved Ah Ma's car out of the porch so that you would have more space to ride.

Baby steps to get you to go out and not be so fearful of the virus.

Easter Egg Hunt

You always love a "Treasure Hunt". So with Easter coming up, you got ready and prepared for an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt.
Preparing the egg decorations as well as a "medal" for the winner:
Preparing a sign of the hunt. It was supposed to be printed (unfortunately I forgot to get it printed before the hunt.. sorry):
You both went upstairs while I hid the eggs:
Daddy was Mei-mei's assistant
Mei-mei won the hunt. So she got a medal and since there were only 2 "hunters", Ko-ko got the other medal. Tried taking pictures of the two of you.. look at what Ko-ko is doing.. teasing you!

A Park Nearby

It's nice that we found a nice park nearby to our house. It's well maintained and there is even a jogging track which suits daddy where he can jog while you kids have fun on the swings and slides.

After a long day at work

The best part of going home is always seeing you up and about playing around the house or cycling. Last Thursday as we drove into the porch you came running out, asking to go to the playground. So you hopped into the car after I'd dropped off our things into the house and off we went across the road to the playground. Here you are enjoying the slides.

You used to be so afraid of the swings when we went to the Youth Park. Now as you grow older and bolder you are not afraid of the swing anymore and you can even ask to go higher.
I'm glad that we could squeeze some time to go to the playground and the weather was very good. It's been raining most evenings for the past few days.

A Birthday Treat

One of the presents that you got from the party was a bicycle. Yup, Ah Kong and Ah Ma bought you a bicycle for your birthday. Mummy and daddy had initially planned to buy you one only after we'd moved back to Minden Heights, but they were insistent on getting you one for your birthday.

Since you were not allowed to ride the bicycle in the condo, we decided to bring you to your favourite place, Youth Park on Sunday. And as usual it was so crowded. We had to park at the furthest carpark and double back to the roller-skating rink. So how did you get to the rink? Why by your "daddy-powered" bicycle, of course!

Looks like you're enjoying the bicycle ride, huh? But we had a tough time trying to teach you how to ride. You'd step on the pedal for around 45 degrees then somehow pull the pedal back and step on it again. Not the right way to ride the bicycle, but it still works.. you were still moving!

Posing with your bicycle

We let you ride the bicycle for a while before we headed to the playground. You always love the tunnel slides and all the playthings things in the playground. Halfway through playing, there was a commotion. What had happened? There was a green snake (probably fell from the trees) and was trying to get away from the crowd. Ok, that was the signal for us to leave. After all we were parked to far away and it was already 7p.m.. Furthermore it looked like it was going to rain heavily too. You weren't too willing to leave, but in the end we left with you on your daddy-powered bicycle to the carpark.

What did you remember from this trip to the Youth Park? Only one thing. The snake! Yup, Ah Ma told me that you told her about "people telling you there was a snake". And you told me the same thing that night when I asked you what you did at the Youth Park too.

A Missed Day at the Youth Park

It's been a while since we've been to the Youth Park. And on Saturday, daddy had promised you that we'd go there. So despite having gone out the whole day (in daddy's case. We both had our afternoon nap while he went out), we headed to the Youth Park at around 5.45pm. Traffic was rather heavy and so by the time we arrived at the Youth Park, it was after 6.00 pm and there were a lot of cars. Only then did we notice several banners hanging along the way to the Youth Park. What's going on? There was a Relay for Life which had just started.
Nevermind, we kept our hopes up on being able to get a parking slot. But.. no chance! The nearest slot that we could find was nearer to the Botanical Gardens than to the Youth Park. I tried to convince you to go to Botanical Gardens instead, but you refused and the flood gates opened! Sigh...
So we had to find another playground quickly. Daddy took a short-cut to get away from the Youth Park/Botanical Gardens and we remembered that there was a playground in that housing estate! Yay! So we stopped there for you to play and you were happy with that arrangement. It was a small playground with 2 slides, 3 rickety swings and 1 see-saw. But you were happy with that. The pictures says it all:

Playtime at the Playground

We went to BM to visit Nanna and Grampy yesterday. It has been a while since we last went back to BM. So after daddy's golf game, we went out for lunch with Ah Kong and Ah ma before heading back to BM.

Of course you napped all the way back to BM and was all fresh to entertain your grandparents. After a while we went out to buy some things. As it was still rather early, we stopped by the playground where mummy used to play in to check it out. There were several older children playing football so we decided to go to another playground nearby. But on the way there we came across a new playground that mummy was not aware of. And better yet, there was no one there. So we parked the car along the side and let you run around and play on the slides and see-saw a while. We tried to get you interested in the swings, but you were not keen on them. Daddy wanted to let you go down the slide that was like a tunnel but you shook your head indicating "no". Nevermind, maybe next time we go back to BM. Too bad we didn't bring the camera to BM.
Dinner with Nanna, Grampy and Ah Ku was at Nando's in Auto City. It was super crowded there as there was a lantern festival being held there. We finally managed to get a place to park but we had to wait for a table. When the table was ready, there was no high chair. But we managed ok. Daddy ate at his "turbo speed" so that he could take over from mummy to entertain you. We left to go back to Penang after that.
Sunday was a lazy day. You must've been too tired from yesterday, as you slept until almost 9am. We initially planned to go to Gurney Plaza, but it was rather late by the time daddy joined us at the condo, and there was a long queue to get into the carpark. So that plan was cancelled. We plan to go this Thursday for the Parkson Member's Day. So after lazying around the house, with daddy taking a nap, we decided to go to the playground nearby our house. And boy, did you have fun there. See for yourself:

Again, you loved running freely, going on the slide, and the see-saw. But wouldn't try the swings. We were there for less than 20 minutes, but I think you had a wonderful time. Ah Kong was there with you too. Can you see daddy and Ah Kong playing with you on the see-saw?

Perhaps we will have an opportunity to visit other playgournds next weekend

Riding the horse

It's been a long time since we took pictures of you. You either close your eyes when we take the picture, or too interested in the camera to allow us to take pictures of you. Tonight, mummy managed to take these 2 pictures of you while you were riding the horsey (daddy).

You both seemed to be having such a good time. You were laughing all the way:

Of course, everytime daddy stopped, you wanted him to repeat your "ride" on his legs again. And now, you are sleeping.. and so is daddy.. he must be tired out too.
