Harmony of Hope

You were suddenly drafted into the musical ensemble for the Harmony of Hope performance in school. Luckily you only needed to be in school by 6.30pm for the 7pm performance.
As it was only 30 minutes, we decided to just hang around until the doors open to the MPH.
Quick photo before you headed to the gathering point
Our tickets (premium seating)
The event started late as we had to wait for the arrival of the Penang Chief Minister. But once it started, everything went smoothly. We were treated to the school orchestra's performance, primary music ensemble, guitar performance and many more.
Ko-ko had to try a few times to finally get a photo of you. Good timing as you smiled so sweetly
After the performance ended, you went back to the music room to collect your stuff before we headed off. Daddy and Ko-ko went to collect the car, so we quickly took a photo of you with the Christmas nativity setup:
Made a quick call to Via Pre to check what time their kitchen closed. I was told 10.30pm and since it was 9.30pm, we thought that we had ample time. Unfortunately, it was soooooo jam heading to the restaurant. But we made it on time to order our food and had a great enjoyable meal before heading home after a long, long day...

Letchumi Ban

Today is the Festival of Lights celebration in school. You had signed up to perform for the celebration (I assume during chapel).

So we took out your dress which I had bought online from before (still very big sized) and you went to school all decked up. Had to remind you to hold up the skirt when you climb the staircase or else you'd certainly trip on the long skirt.

And because you were dressed in the lehenga, daddy called you Letchumi Ban. You didn't understand why, so we had to explain to you that this is an Indian girl's name.

Got this picture from the video your teacher shared with the parents:

Puppet Show

While we were doing your ICT assignment on Monday, I came across a conversation on Chat with your English teacher. It turned out that you had signed up for the Literature and Language festival to do a puppet show. But you did NOTHING on that and gave an excuse that you had too much homework.

I was so very disappointed. You had the whole week off and spent most of that time watching TV as we had cleared out most of the homework.
When asked, you confirmed my suspicion that you did not plan to submit anymore since it was overdue. Which was why you did not mention a word to me. I was so disappointed in the lying.
So that very night, you had to sleep late as you had to prepare the puppets and props for the puppet show. We decided to use one of the stories you wrote for English with some tweaks.
While you had classes yesterday, I painted the background so that it looked more colorful.
We tried several rounds of recording and finally came up with quite a decent performance. I had to trim and combine some of the scenes and submit the video to your teacher.
I hope this serves as a lesson to you for lying.

2019 School Awards Night and Concert

The day started early in the morning as usual for Ko-ko as Awards Ceremony was held in the afternoon for secondary school. For Mei-mei, we dropped you at school only at 4p.m. all dressed and made up for the performance which was so start in the evening.
It was a uniquely planned performance. You participated in two dances for the evening. One was an Indian dance by year 1 students:
And another was an Egyptian dance by the dance club members:

And now that Awards night is over, the school holiday begins.

First Concert

We were worried that you'd have forgotten the dance steps since we were away for 2 weeks. But you still had several days of rehearsal before the real day. We had to wake up early as we were asked to be at Equatorial Hotel by 7.30am. No, we could not make it on time, but quite a handful of children also arrived after 7.30am. After getting you out of bed and dressed and fed, we headed to the hotel.

We dropped you and found out that we were too early. So we went back to the changing room and peeked at the hub-bub in the room. This is what we saw:
Madness! That's what it was... Lots of children and teachers trying to get everyone looking pretty/handsome, especially for the graduating class. You seemed perfectly at home chatting with your friends.

Daddy got a shot of you with your friend, Jen Jiet (not too sure of the spelling):

Finally at around 9am, the event began. There were speeches, singing by the graduating students, certificate presentation to the graduating class and then the performances began. This year as there was another newly opened branch of this school, the concert comprised of performance by children from both schools. And finally it was time for children from your class to perform:
Waiting for the song to begin dancing your "Bunyi Guitar"

A good thing Ah Kong and Ah Ma came early as the performance was ahead of schedule. After all the performances, all the children gathered on stage for the finale: singing "top of the World" and a Chinese song.

The concert ended early that day. After the final song and the closing speech from Principal Vanessa the parents headed to the changing room to pick up their children. I waited outside while daddy went to get you. When he finally got out with you, he said that the room was a madness with lots of parents/ grandparents /siblings and the children waiting to be picked up. Before we left, daddy took this picture of you in your "dance costume":

Hey, we even had time to go home, give you a shower before attending the next event for the day: a birthday party for these 2 cuties.
