First Children's Day in Wesley

You came back from school and told me that you wanted to bring fish biscuit for the class party. Somehow, while informing your class teacher about the plans, I ended up agreeing to provide a party pack which the children could bring home.
So here you are packing the items and also a few spare to give to your friends from other classes:

You came back with another party pack which you had exchanged with a friend from Year 2. You seemed to have fun, even volunteering to be covered in tissue paper for the games.
As for K-ko.. such a pity as since he is considered Secondary School, there was no Children's Day celebrations for him. But he was lucky as you bought back some Vitagen which he also got to enjoy.

Father's Day

Today is daddy's special day. Mei-mei brought back a card she made in school on Friday. You on the other hand decided to make him cheese omelette.  We added the Gruyere cheese on top of the usual cheddar and "Master Chef Daddy" gave you a high score for this tea time snack.

Our 10th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

It was a wonderful simple dinner with the family at our favourite restaurant, Feringghi Grill. We had to celebrate one the weekend after the actual day as we could not get a reservation the weekend before. There was also Ah Kong, Ah Ma, Nanna, Grampy, Teo-teo and Ee-ee having dinner with us. Simply love this restaurant. Beacuse there was children under 8, we were given a room. And we had our own waiter. The day before and on the actual day, the restaurant called to inquire if we wanted to pre-order some specific food so as to reduce the waiting time. On top of that, they even helped me with a special request for Mei-mei to have some chips served for her.
Here's the both of you all dressed up for the dinner:

And this was some of the food we were served:

On top of that, dinner ended with the usual petit four and also a little chocolate cake for us:

Happy Father's Day

As we had a late night on Saturday, you could not wake up on time to prepare daddy's Father's Day breakfast.  But you are fair... since mummy had one daddy still should have one.. so you prepared tea for daddy instead.
Here's Chef Evan's masterpiece:

Valentine's Day

I called mummy yesterday when she was at work. Told her that I have a Valentine's Day surprise for her. She was so excited. I told her to come back at 5 or 6, but she only got back home at 6.30. But good enough, we still had time before dinner time to play treasure hunt.

I think mummy is not very good at treasure hunts. I gave her a clue but she didn't seem to remember the clue "it's in a box". She still wanted to search the drawers.. as if I can't tell the difference between a drawer and a box!

In the end, I had to give mummy another clue before she finally found it. She was so happy, she immediately asked daddy to take a picture of us with the present which I made in school for her.

As for daddy.. er.. he didn't get anything from me. But I did give him a hug. I'm sure he's happy with that. Daddy, maybe I'll give you a Valentine's Day present when I make it in school next year.

How About The Other Guests?

Of course there were pictures of the other guests too. And here's one of the bride and the groom:

And mummy and daddy with the bride and groom:
Found this picture in my camera (why am I not surprised.. although it is a nice picture). You were so busy being assistant photographer:
Of course it's not a tea ceremony without the "tea drinking" session. Wait.. we didn't get to have any tea. We had sparkling grape juice.. does that count? Or should I get a "refund" for my ang pow to the newlyweds?
Oh well.. we all enjoyed the "tea".. sluurpppp...

More Pictures: Tea Ceremony

Ah Kim is very efficient. She has loaded lots of pictures of the wedding in Facebook and I am also very efficient. I have saved some pictures from Facebook too. So here are some of the shots of you up to no good during the tea ceremony. Here's a picture of you and daddy...

You were as busy as the photographer. First taking pictures with my phone (no wonder my phone's memory is maxed out!!), then later discovering Alan Ku-ku's Lumix camera..

Goofing around with Alex ku-ku.

Oops.. caught in the act of stealing the cheese off the cheesecake. Later Ee-ee became your accomplice in stealing the cheese of the cakes. The cakes and tarts served that day were delicious.

And of course, most importantly, the ang pow for you.

A Lovely Gift for Mummy

(This is a few weeks overdue.. *grin*)

Ah Ma had mentioned on Friday that Citibank was having a glass painting session for children. Daddy initially said we didn't want to send you there, but in the end we agreed and so on Saturday morning, Ah Ma went with us to this art gallery where the glass painting session was being held.

When we arrived, there was a few children who were already painting while their parents browsed around the gallery cum jewellery shop and have light snacks while chatting.

You got a seat and someone asked you to pick the picture which you would like to draw. You picked a fish pattern and then you took a marker to trace the picture onto the glass. Then you started to paint. When you were almost finished painting, they realised that they had let you paint on the wrong side of the glass. Oops.. so you were asked to trace another picture on another piece of glass, this time a pattern of 2 heart and the nice che-che who was helping you even helped to write some words on it.

At long last you were done, but as Ah Ma was not around as she had gone off to run a few errands. So we sat around, enjoyed some snacks and finally Ah Ma arrived. Before we left, mummy was given a present from the bank for Mother's Day. On top of that I was even given flowers. How lovely. This is what I got for Mother's Day (round 1, as we had round 2 which was buffet lunch on the next day): And of course, I got you to pose with your art work too:

Thanks sweetie for a lovely Mother's Day present *muakkss*

New Year's Eve Party

As most of the usual suspects were not around during Christmas eve and Christmas Day, Ah Ma decided to have the dinner party on New Year's Day instead. So what was on the menu? "Surf and Turf" that's what Ah Ma called it.
Daddy was the steak chef for the night, with mummy taking orders for how the guests wanted their steaks to be cooked. On top of the steaks, we had lobsters on the grille, pork chipolata's and salmon. The kids were each given a hamburger (I should call it "pork-burger" instead) with chippies.

After stuffing ourselves with dinner, we sat around chatting and the kids opened some Christmas presents. Then it was time for dessert:

Haagen-Dazs Ice-cream Christmas Log Cake

Sponge Cake baked by Great-grand Aunty

Apple (?) bought by Uncle Sin Chuan from Cameron Highlands. Everyone thought it was more like guava than apple

As the next day was a weekend, everyone stayed a little later, but they did not stay till midnight as they were worried about traffic jam getting back home.

Happy New Year 2011!

Daddy's day would not be complete without something handmade by you right? After all today is Father's Day. So here's what you made 2 weeks ago before you started your school holidays. You had wanted to give it to daddy then, but after some explanation and telling you that it was to be a big secret, you finally agreed to let me keep it safely in the drawer first.

The front of the card
And the inside of the card
So when you finally woke up this morning, you were smiling away when I passed you this card to give to daddy. Daddy was so surprised and happy to receive the card (great actor that man.. hehe! He'd already spotted the card a while back when we were searching for our passports high and low).

But hey, it was a lovely card. Very nicely made.

Happy Father's Day, daddy!!!

Mini-Me

Managed to get this picture off Facebook which was taken by Uncle Jamie. It's a picture of you with Chek Kong. Me and "Mini-Me", both in the same striped shirt and striped tie. Only missing thing is your coat.
Here's another picture of you and Lourdes Ah Mm. You were in a cheeky mood and I think right after that picture was taken you both fell down. I think her heel landed a little on your finger, but after much persuasion that there was nothing wrong, you were a brave boy and did not shed a single tear.

Wedding Dinner

The dinner was to start at 7.30pm. But before that daddy and Uncle Jamie headed over to the house to collect all the alcoholic drinks which were to be served for dinner at around 5p.m. While they were away doing the "hard labour", we were at the hotel room, getting ready for the dinner. I'd let you have some tea as I was not sure what time dinner would start. In the meantime, I had my shower.
As we did not have a car yet (the car was the bridal car..), we had to rely on either Uncle Jamie or Uncle Dennis to give us a ride to the Tropicana Ballroom. In the end, Ah Kong and Ah Ma hitched a ride with Uncle Dennis while we waited for daddy to come back and get ready. Then we left the hotel with Uncle Jamie as well as Eu Jin Ah Pek and Lourdes Ah Mm. We dropped daddy at the house (as he still needed to fulfill his job as the driver for the day) then headed to the ballroom.
Surprisingly, by 7p.m. there were quite a number of guests already there. Your kor-kors were busy helping the guests sign up and also to check on the seating arrangements. But of course we all still had time for pictures.
Our little handsome boy
I don't have a picture but you were actually wearing a miniature version of 5th Chek Kong's shirt. Hehe.. too bad you haven't got a coat. Then you'd surely look like a "Mini Me" of Chek Kong.
Here's some pictures of the decorations, the reception table, the signature book and also the corsage. And here of course is the beautiful couple.

And guess what? Your final job for this wedding.. was to be the page boy for the night. Annabelle che-che came dressed in her pretty white dress and Ashley Kor-kor asked if you'd both want to be the flower girl and page boy and you both said "OK" so.. OK you were both "it". Hehe.. we showed you how to walk and you were both reminded to walk SLOWLY and you both did a wonderful job (although halfway you covered your mouth when they turned on the "smoke machine".

Dinner was soon served and you enjoyed most of the dishes. And the main highlight of the day was when Sue Kor-kor presented you with this:
She salvaged the ribbon from her corsage and presented you with a "bouquet" of chocolates. And what did you both do after that? Go around other tables, asking for MORE chocolates. That's how your "chocolate bouquet" ended up to be almost as big as Jackie Ah Chim's flower bouquet!!

As the dinner ended, instead of getting more tired you seemed to be more energetic! You were jumping around, laughing and playing with everyone.
Of course, most importantly is for us to take a family picture. Just the three of us....

After having more pictures taken, we headed back to the hotel. Daddy dropped us before heading to the house to remove the decorations on the car and coming back to the room. You ate some supper (amazingly) and finally went to bed at close to 1am. And of course, decided that it was time to wake up this morning at 8.30am. Guess who got to continue sleeping and who didn't....
