Cycling on Two Wheels

You have been cycling quite often recently. Last Sunday, daddy tried to teach you to cycle on two wheels. But it wasn't easy. So subsequently, you cycled with the training wheels.

Today, you started off with the training wheels. We went around Jalan 15 twice then headed home to attempt the two wheels again. It took you a while as you kept pulling to the right. And you finally sort of figured out on how to go where the bicycle is pulling. So we moved on to the field across the road and voila! You were cycling on your own.

Initially, you needed daddy to help you balance to start cycling. But daddy just needed to give you instructions a couple of times on how to kick off to cycle and you were cycling so well.

Finally! You have learnt to cycle on two wheels. Great job!

Chopstick Wielding Girl

It still amazes me that you somehow have taught yourself how to use the chopsticks. And most importantly, your daddy tells everyone that you are using it the correct way, unlike most of us (Ah Kong and I inclusive).
I had bought you those "trainer" chopsticks but you did not use them too often before graduating to the full fledged chopsticks:

Toothless Tiger

On the day of your birthday, your tooth decided to be too loose. So before the party started, daddy gave your tooth a gentle tug and it came off.
It's so shaky already

Ta-da.. bou geh

And very excitedly, you asked to put the tooth inside the tooth album (you finally got to use it!!). I asked if you wanted to put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy to give you some money, but you didn't want to do it. So we put it into the album and even informed Nat Kor-kor (who gave you this album) that you finally have a tooth to place into the album.

Update: Now you decide that you want to put that tooth under your pillow! Haiyo.. not allowing that. So lucky thing your other tooth is now shaky. You will soon have a new tooth to put under your pillow.

Graduation Photo Day

After so many postponement due to the HFMD, the date is finally set for the graduation photos to be taken. I had asked Mrs, Sebastian the day before if it was a good idea for you to be wearing the graduation robes so early in the morning. She reassured me that it was ok as she would ensure all children are more well behaved on that day (so as not to dirty or worst tear the robes!!)

So here you are posing for my camera.. (it sure wasn't easy to get you to smile and look at the camera!!)

Aww... our little baby.. she's all ready to graduate from kindergarten. *kiss*kiss*

Big Oh-wee

You are growing up so quickly.  From simple words you are joining 2 words. Last Saturday when we were in the car on the way to drop Ko-ko to school for Wushu you said "big oh-wee". I did not get what you were trying to say and only realised you meant "big lorry" when you pointed to a lorry. You can even differentiate between a car, van and motorcycle.
Yesterday you surprised us further when you answered Ko-ko "Mama got nennen" when he told you "Mummy has no more nennen".
I guess you'll talk even more when you start going to school.

Cheeky Evelyn at 12 Months

Ok, yes.. my 12 month milestone is VERY late, but hey better late than never *grin*.
~ weight: 9.64 kg when you went in for your injection at 12 months + 2 weeks
~ height: 74cm
~ teeth: 4 which you love to chomp on. Everyone have been bitten by the "Pink Mosquito"
~ not calling anyone yet. But your favourite word is "Ohh... OOoohhh". It depends on why you use it to tell the person carrying you that you want to go somewhere so it's "oohhhh" + pointing. If in pain, you'll hold the place where you hurt yourself, show that you are in pain and say "Oooh" and calling someone also "Ooohhhh"
~ another favourite word which I think is your first word is "Mum mum". Yup.. not "mama" or "dada", it's "Mum mum". You'll tell anyone who walks past you when you're eating "Mum mum" to ensure they know you are eating
~ at 12 months you could only stand and take 1 or 2 steps before falling on your bum. Now you are walking, taking many steps before falling and then proceeding to crawl to your destination at top speed
~ you love music. You'll wiggle and swing your arms around when you hear music or when we ask you to dance
~ you would wave bye bye and give flying kisses. You are getting even more willing to give flying kisses nowdays, going "ammmmm.. muahhhh. ammmmm... muahhhhh"
~ loves your Ko-ko so much. You'll always call him and smile whenever you see him, especially when he comes home from school

This is what I can think of for now. Sigh.. from this little thing which we needed to carry to be this little mosquito which can move around with ease. Hugs and cuddles for our precious.

Chatterbox Evelyn

Left you home with daddy while I went for replacement music classes with Ko-ko. Daddy said you decided to have a lengthy conversation with him:
This is the first time we hear you talking like that. I'm telling daddy that you are trying to call him. Right? So make sure when you wake up in the middle of the night or when you do a poo poo call da-da-da-da-da, ok?

Evelyn Turns

You've been trying to turn from your back to your chest for a while now. And when we woke up yesterday, I saw that you managed to turn on your chest. You accomplished this feat very quickly too!
Good job by our little girl.

All Grown Up

I kept telling myself that I had time to write about your 3.5 years old milestone still. Then in the blink of the eye, I missed your 3.5 years old milestone. So here I am trying to recall what I had in mind to write about....

Speech:
- Picking up big words. You even tell me "This is too dange-wus for you, you cannot use it".
- Back to the "why" stage again. It started when you started school. So I get "Mummy, why do I need to go to school?" and "Mummy, why you cannot go to school with me?" and "Mummy, why you need to earn money?" and the questions are repeated so many times. I was just about to pull my hair when we were on the way home yesterday from school with your questions when I recalled that the best way is to ask you the question back with "Why do you think you need to go to school?". Obviously you have the answer to that and after a while, you stopped asking me questions!
- We still talk about the zoo. Yup, it's been out nightly discussion topic for the past 10 months or so!
- We are trying to teach you manners. You've taken to interrupting mummy and daddy's conversation by shoulting loudly. So far when you've been told to wait and not interrupt while we're talking I get this from you "You don't talk to daddy. Only talk to me!".
- Your favourite phrase lately is "Watch this..." and do somthing silly like showing off your "muscles" or gulping your drinks really loudly.

Memory:
- You've got good memory. It's been a couple of weeks since you started school and you can already recognise the route to school. The moment we are near, you will start your hundred questions session with me.
- You can recognise some words, like "Evan", "Mummy" and "daddy" as a result of us reading some of your books.
- You recognise the Cold Storage logo as Island Plaza! I try to correct you, but you are stubborn and refuse to re-learn. Just like Gurney Plaza is Parkson-Gurney to you...

Learning:
- We had been wondering what you learnt at school. Tried asking, but get very little out of you! But one thing is we've heard you singing some of the songs being taught in school. So I guess you've picked up something...
- Noticed your colouring book, you seem to be doing better nowadays, although you're not holding the pencil correctly yet.
- Last week you said that you didn't have time to finish colouring your work in school. That's because I've seen you run away from the school work being given, playing with the curtains! You need to learn to pay attention in class.
- You've mastered riding the bicycle for a while. We saw you cycling so fast yesterday. Poor Ah Kong had to run after you to ensure that you don't fall down or crash!
That's all I can recall for now...

Oh Wow!

We reached home a little later on Monday evening as we had to stop by Gurney Plaza to pick up something for Sue Kor-kor. Since we were a little late, our big boss (you-la!) called to check on where we were. Mummy had to call Ah Ma to tell her to start dinner without us, since we were already on the way back. I tried to tell you to pass the message to Ah Ma, but knowing you.. no message would be passed (and you didn't!).
The moment we walked into the house, you were already seated at your high chair eating dinner. And the first thing you said to us was "I can cyker too".
What? What? What did you say? Daddy and I could not figure out what you were trying to tell us so excitedly. Then Ah Kong explained that you managed to cycle through, making a full circle. Unlike what you've been doing since you started to cycle. Good job, little guy. You did it. And you were so proud of yourself, you kept telling us your achievement.
In fact you called me again yesterday to tell me that you managed to cycle through again. Ah Kong said you're getting better at it and it's become natural for you to make a few full circles. Yay!

Evan at 36 Months (Plus)

Ok ok, a few days overdue. But better late than never. Furthermore I don't write on milestones very often. So here goes...

At 36 months and (count count count..) 5 days old:
Height: 88cm ( i think.. )
Weight: 12.7kg

- You have no more inoculations to go for until you turn 6 years old. Phew.. no more doctor visits. *touch wood*touch wood*

Speech:
- At the last visit to Dr Mary (last week that I forgot to blog about... ), she asked you what the item that she was holding in her hands was and you could tell her it was a stethoscope. She was impressed that you knew a word and a 3 syllable word too.
- You're starting to pick up bigger words too. Such as "deneecious" (delicious) instead of a simple "yummy" or "good".
- You even use words like "beautiful".
- Still cannot pronounce "l" in words. So it's "nike" for like. You used to have difficulty with "y" too. So instead of yellow, it was "neyo". After a lot of "YE-LO", the closest that you'd give me is "YE-NO". Ok, tried showing you how the tongue needs to touch the upper teeth.. Still not working. Need to work on that.
- Every night before we go to sleep, you'd tell me "Mummy, I tell you something, ok?" and when asked what you would like to tell me, it's still the same story "Talk about the zoo" and "Talk about the school".
- Picked up from someone this "I tell you.. " and "Hey, are you listening to me?"
- Your "yes" has changed from "ha" to "ya", the word "yes" is still eluding me.
- Last night you told me that you wanted to sulk. Yes, you used the word "sulk" just because I didn't want to let you play anymore!
- I sometimes try to add some Hokkien when I talk to you, so you know some Hokkien words. Very limited, but better than none I guess.

Food:
- Still a picky eater as ever. Favourite food is pumpkin moi moi. Kakak is always asked what she cooked for your lunch. If it's vegetable moi moi, she knows to cook a smaller portion, because you will have all sorts of excuse on why you don't want the moi moi (too full, not hungry, stomach has no more place...). But Ah Ma says that you'll then "share" her lunch later on!
- Self-feeding very well. But you get lazy and I end up having to feed you the balance of the food, or else you'll not eat up your lunch/dinner.
- Fruits are no longer a favourite. The only reason you would eat is when you had a hard time doing your poo poo. Still, you are not keen to try out new fruits no matter how we try to persuade you to open your mouth. We'd only end up with you covering your mouth like this.
- You are quite fine with the food that we eat for dinner. Daddy says you are like me, we need gravy in our rice before we can eat. And you also love drinking soup. You've taken to imitating someone by drinking directly from the bowl!

Potty training:
- 100% wee wee trained at home and 100% poo poo trained at home and out.
- There were several "accidents" on your carseat and so far so good since then *touch wood*.. all is fine. But we still go out with a Mamy Poko pants in my handbag and spare pants in the car.
- Thank goodness you give us enough warning on the need to wee wee and so we have time to bring you to the nearest toilet.
- Taught you to pull down your pants and underwear, stand on the little stool in our bathroom and wee wee and you loved the idea. But 1 week later, you decided to wee wee using another style. How? By climbing up the WC. And you even told me 2 nights ago that you could go by yourself "No need mummy to help"! I was worried that you might fall down, so I peeked at you and quickly pretended to be watching TV when you were done.

You & Me:
- Sometimes you get it right sometimes, you still refer to daddy as "your daddy" when you're talking to Ah Kong
- When referring to yourself, you sometimes say "mine" or "me" and yet there are times when you still say "Evan's"

Learning:
- You know your capital letters very well. Boh-boh Poh had advised that you learn the capital letters properly before we taught the lower caps. Well.. you know your alphabets well, so we've moved to lower caps, which is a little more difficult as you confuse the "p", "d" and "b" and also the "h" and "n". But it's ok, we'll take it easy and slowly learn them ok?
- Drawing is one of your favourite pastimes. You're so lucky that you got all sorts of markers and books for your birthday. Now is the time to worry about you drawing on your clothes!
- Books are a favourite and you have some favourites that I try to read to you every night before we go to sleep.

Love:
- Of course you love us a lot. And we love you too. Sometimes you'll tell me "I nuff you mummy" and give me a big juicy kiss. Love it that you are so generous with your kisses.
- You love making lots of noise. This birthday also saw several noise makers. We are also guilty in buying you one of the noise makers. Sigh.. you wanted an electric (toy) guitar, so we bought it (much to our regret!). The manufacturer should provide ear plugs for the parents!
- Your cars and trains are never forgotten. You'll still make time to play with your garage and Thomas train set. On top of that you have a variety of Thomas & Friends VCD and books. Nanna had brought back the Thomas books that belonged to Ashley and Julian Ku-ku all the way from Singapore.

Manners:
- You know to cover your mouth when you sneeze (even when faking it).
- "Excuse me" is the word to use when you sneeze or even cough.
- Only thing that annoys me is when you purposely slurp when you drink your soup! The more I try to stop you, the louder it gets. Come to think about it, I think I haven't heard you slurping for a while. Maybe that phase has passed... phew.

It amazes me when I look back and see all the changes in you. No longer our little baby, still as precious as ever.

Alphabets

You've known your alphabets for quite a while now. But I realised something was still missing when you tried to read this:

We saw this sign when we went CNY shopping and daddy was trying on the t-shirt. What did you read when you saw this? "A" "S" "twen-twen" "W" "O" "twen-twen" and so forth. Why? Aiya.. this mummy only taught your alphabets in caps! So unknown alphabets were classified as "twen-twen".

So a few weeks back when we were in MPH, I picked an alphabet book which had alphabets both in caps and lower case. So far, you have been able to recognise most of the alphabets in lower case. Of course, there are still mistakes, especially with the "h" which you say is an "n".

You love to spell the alphabets saying "Mummy, let's count". I have tried telling you that the correct word is "spell" but you refuse to pick up the correct word.

Here's another of your favourite past-time.

Yup, these are arranged for Ah Kong to "learn". Haha.. everyday (and many times in the day..) you'd ask Ah Kong to read to you the alphabets. I think I can hear you teaching Ah Kong now as I am typing this...

Where is your diaper?

I hope so. So far the only time you wear diapers is when you are sleeping at night. Naps are now diaper free. I started to let you nap diaperless on weekends, and at last I have asked Ah Ma to let you go diaperless. So far, everything seemed ok. Except that there was a slight accident yesterday. I was on half day leave and had a spa treatment compliments of Ee-ee. (Thank you!) And when I got back, you were sleeping. After you woke up, Ah Ma gave you Yakult and we forgot to get you to wee wee first. I guess there was no more place for the Yakult so you had to let go!! One minute you were squatting on the floor, looking at me do something and next thing I know... The floor was wet and the puddle was getting bigger and bigger! Ok, that's not your fault, since I forgot to get you to wee first thing after you woke up.
As for going out, we were never brave enough to bring you out without letting you wear diapers. My biggest fear is that you decide that you need to wee wee and we're somewhere where there is no such facilities. At long last, we decided that you seemed to have good bladder control, so we took you out last week diaperless (I even forgot to bring a spare diaper and spare pants! Yikes!). We went for lunch, then to Gurney Plaza to kai-kai. All seemed ok. But I was worried and kept asking you if you needed to wee wee. In the end, you decided that you needed to wee wee while we were in Gurney Plaza.
We even went to Uncle Khoo's house for a party and you didn't have diapers on. Nope.. no accident. Of course, I still had to ask you many times, in case you got too excited playing and forgot to wee wee. But I dare not let you go diaperless for the ride to BM on Monday. Hey, it's a longer ride and er.. we can't just roll down the window.
Today, we were out for a long time, and you obliged to my question (yup, you didn't seem too keen..) on whether you needed to wee wee twice. Today I was prepared with a spare diaper and pants kept in daddy's car. But we didn't use it. You must be sick of mummy asking you if you needed to wee wee.. But I'm glad that you are doing well. Hopefully soon you can go 100% without diapers.
Muakkss to you from mummy and daddy.

Our Little Baby is Now 30 months old

I'm getting lazier to list down your milestones. You've grown so much, (and I'm getting older and more forgetful) so many things that you have done, some amusing, others that drive everyone up the wall. Here's a few of how you've grown so far...

Vital Stats:-
Height : around 85cm (I think)
Weight : 11.7 kg (still for quite a while)

~ Self-feeding for quite a while. Thankfully not a messy eater. Only thing is you do not like veggies. Only take them with your moi

~ Favourite food: You told Nanna yesterday that "You (My) favoneet(favourite) chippies"

~ Speech: takes a person who is familiar with you to understand what you are talking about. In fact, Ah Kong still needs help to figure out what you are talking sometimes. Even Ah Ma does not understand you 100%. But we have noticed that you are picking up new things very quickly

~ Music: love songs, especially when riding in your car. You will ask daddy to play "Eh-wan's chee-dee (CD)". Can even sing the whole Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song and a few others

~ Demanding: "Chan(ge) to Eh-wan's channel". What is it? 613: Playhouse Disney lo.. You even know how to change the channel yourself!

~ Cars: Still love them and now trains too

~ Caring: so sweet when you knock into us and we make crying sounds. You'll quickly come over and as "(Are) you ok?" and pet us and whisper "ok.. ok.. ", just like how we talk to you when you fall down.

~ Talk to Furbie: You like to ask him "(Are) you goo(d) boy?" and answer your own question with "Ha.." ("Yes" to your question)

~ Talk in proper sentences. Can even tell daddy off "Daddy drive too fast". Even asked Ah Kong "Ah Kong, are you weady (ready)?"

~ Recognizing things: Can recognise cars. I have even heard you saying "Look like Ah Kong car, ngot (not) Ah Kong car". Same goes for logo's. You even recognise the "halal" logo saying it's like your yogurt

~ Potty trained: 99% for wee wee and 100% for poo poo.. when you are awake. You will tell us that you need to "wee wee" or "ngk ngk". But on rare occasions, accidents still happen

~ Mr Curious: Still love to ask "Wat dat?" whenever you hear some sound or see something new

~ Current past-time: Other than drive mummy crazy, you love to hop around.. just like your favourite Tigger.

You've grown up so much since you turned two. At time you are the perfect angel.. at others, a typical two year old child in the "terrible two's" stage! Either way, we still love you loads.

Things I Overheard You Saying...

You seem to be more and more curious. So whenever you hear a sound, you will ask "Wat dat?" of "Eh? Wat dat?"
Another thing you like to ask is "(What) are you doing?" Just like when we were in The Smokehouse, waiting for the tea time menu to be served, and we were playing in the gardens. Chim Poh went to hide from you.. so what did you say? "Chim Poh... (What) are you doing?"
Whenever your toys fall, you'll say "Ash-den" which is your version of "accident". Especially when you play with your garage. Sometimes, one of the cars will overturn when it is maneuvering the bend and the next car will bang into the overturned car, so you will say "Aiya, ash-den".
Which brings us to your next word "Aiyah..". Chim Poh reckons you picked that up from me. She says I use that word quite a bit. So when anything happens, you will say "Aiyah..."
It's very funny how from saying a few single words, you are now almost able to hold a conversation with us. Just like when you were playing with daddy.. He arranged your trains in a row and you told him "No, daddy.. Not like dish (this)".
Sometimes it's a little difficult to figure out what you are saying.. I'd try to guess what you're saying with words that sound almost alike. If it's wrong, then you'd just say "No" and we'd move on to the next guess *wink*. You used to get really upset when we could not figure out what you were trying to say. I guess when we are around you more often, it's easier to understand you. And you definitely understand what we're telling you. In fact, Chim Poh and Chek Kong and Su Kor-kor had difficulty understanding you.. But after 3 days with you, they could pretty much figure out what you try to tell them.
Oh yes, you also like to say this:
Mummy: Where is Ah Ma?
Evan: Upstairs
Mummy: What is Ah Ma doing upstairs?
Evan: Doing something
or
Mummy: What are you doing, Evan?
Evan: Something
Never something specific. Always a standard answer of "something"... Ok there was this one time that you gave me a specific answer:
Evan: Going home
Mummy: Go home to do what?
Evan: Go home, do something
Mummy: Do what?
Evan: Go home, wash b*rdie
Er.. ok next time, we'll leave it as "something"!

Reading books

I love buying books for you. I started to buy board books because you'd er.. eat books when you were younger. I bought you a pop-up book before, but the book has met it's maker... Not in a very good condition anymore. All tattered and torn.

Well, for your 2nd birthday, you received several books. Some we have opened, while others are too advanced for you, so mummy put them aside for later on. On Saturday night, before going to sleep, you insisted that you wanted to read one of the new books that was still wrapped up. Mummy told you that it's still wrapped up. Guess what you did? You managed to peel open one of the sides and happily exclaimed "Open edi" (opened already), wanting to read the book and not go to sleep. Sigh.. it sure took lot of persuasion before you went to sleep!

Here's a really adorable book that ee-ee gave you for your birthday. It's called "In the Jungle". We call it the "Jungle book" .. easier. It's got a picture of an animal under the flap and you love it. We read this book before you take your afternoon naps and at night before bedtime. You can finally recognise all the adorable patchwork animals. Pronunciation is not too accurate, but getting there. There's the ai-yon (lion), giyaff, chupra (zebra), tiger (clearly), bird-paiet (parrot), hippo, monkey. The snake is “ssssss”. Sounds familiar? Looks like you haven't forgotten what you said so long ago. The last one that you learnt is the crocodile. You call it co-cu-DILE. Before that you'd tell me "Me dun no" when I asked you what it was!

24 Month Milestones

Wow.. you're already 2 years old. From our little baby, you've now grown to a little man. How much you've grown...

Here's my attempt at listing your milestones at 24 months.

Weight: 11.4kg at your last visit to Dr Mary's

Height: 82cm (also measured at your last visit). Although daddy and I think that you've grown taller ever since

Teeth: A lot.. I need to get daddy to put his fingers in to count them

~ Recognising people: You can recognise relatives even after having not met them for a long time. Although to make things easy, here's what you call them:
Ah Kong = (real) Ah Kong, Chek Kong, Pek Kong, Ku Kong, Teo Kong
Poh Poh = Bo-bo Poh, Chim Poh, Kor Poh, Ee Poh
Kor-Kor = Your many kor-kors
Ah Pek = Your many Ah Peks

~ Music critic. If the radio is playing a song that you don't like, you will say "change" (pronounced as "chain chain chain"

~ Love cars... can be told from your birthday cake and presents

~ Tell me what you want to wear. Mummy picked a Thomas the Train T-shirt for you to wear recently and you said "chain chain".. i thought you meant "train" but nOooo... you meant change.. coz next you said "car car"

~ Tells Furbie off. If you see him going to the kitchen you'd yell "Bibi.. out" or if he's barking loudly, you'd say "Bibi.. NO"

~ Picking up new words faster nowdays. You started off with "ball", "car".. now you can say "ba(s)", and even combine words such as "(s)peed bump", and "daddy/mummy in car". Looks like we all need to be careful with what we say in front of you!!

~ Recognise the playground nearby our house. You will get excited each and every time we drive pass the playground

~ Food: eat most things. And your favourite breakfast (for now) is baka (butter) and jum (jam). And also egg. Sometimes after meals you'll also ask for "a-dam" (ice-cream). You even ate the "pong" (prawn) from my char kuey tiau recently! It's getting difficult to explain to you that not all food is for you.. especially spicy food. You especially love soup that you call "choop".

~Able to recognise Ah Kong and daddy's car logo

~ You love to watch your CD, DVD and VCDs. And you pick your own show, turn on the correct player put in the disc, change the mode on the amplifier. Ah Ma reckons you even know to turn up the volume when they're playing your favourite songs. If you don't like the disc, you'll immediately turn it off. Favourite disc 2 weeks ago was "Wheels on the Bus" and this week is "Barney"
~ You current favourite song is Old McDonald. You'll jump in when they reach E-I-E-I-O. Singing only the I-O part. Haha...
~ Can say where daddy is "Daddy goff" (no need to guess what that is)
~ Know that Ah Kong is in the "ah pok" to take "pane" (plane)
As usual.. that's all I can think of.. I'm sure there are more that I've missed out... Nevermind, I'll blog about them when I remember

At Long Last...

All this while, you were able to call daddy "da-da". Or should I say "whisper da-da". At long last, you can say more than that. At last you can say:

Ma-mi: Took you a long time. But better late than never. You started off by saying "Ma-ma" after we came back from Japan. But it's mostly "ma-mi"

Ah Ma: That is very clear. No denying you're calling your grandma

Ah Kang: Or something like that. It was initially "Ah K'ng" or "Ah Ka" then slowly it sounds like Ah Kong. You sure made his day when you finally called him Ah Kang (good enough-la)
As for daddy.. it's still a whispered "da-da". But at times when I ask you to call daddy, you will yell at the top of your voice "DA".
Other than these, you can also say: "Car" and even recognise pictures of cars in the newspapers (even if it is not a whole car) and of course "Ball". Oh yea.. and "Nanan" for milk, even recognising the box of milk when we open the fridge door!
Even Wati is lucky as you seem to be able to call "Kaka".. probably because it sounds like car. I wonder what else you'd be able to say next.

Evan's 18th Months...

How time flies... From rushing to the hospital after having contractions 5 minutes apart, to holding you for the first time, to hearing you cry for the first time, your first step, when you called da-da for the first time, your first birthday.. and now you are 1.5 years old. Here's a little report card on your development so far:

Weight: 10.3kg

Height: 77 cm

Head Circumference: 48 cm

Teeth: Many sharp teeth (trust me I know!).. I mean... 12 teeth so far: 7 on top and 5 on the bottom

Other than that:
- Able to recognise everyone familiar. Able to point to the correct person when asked who is mummy, daddy, Ah Kong and Ah Ma. BUT... when asked to call anyone, it's a standard answer : "Ba"... said with lots of emphasis on the "B"! Of course that is excluding daddy who is still da-da to you... But daddy insists that you also say Ma to me before...

- The other word u can say is "boh" (none).. I think.. Especially when your toys are not working.. So "boh batteries liao"

- As for trying to make you speak more words, you refuse to repeat after us, preferring to jabber away in your own baby language. Nevermind, there will come a day when you will talk non-stop and we may wish you had an "on/off" button!

- Walking skill has been perfected, in fact, you can even do an "old man's walk" or even walk backwards. You are even able to run quite quickly. Oh yeah... daddy knows that well enough, as he's tried letting you walk around the shopping complexes. And yet, sometimes preferring to crawl still!

- We have let you try most of the food that we take, providing it's not too salty or spicy. But.. you still take your moi moi that we cook. Only thing you haven't tried is probably seafood (not counting fish.. obviously)

- You adore the lift. Our little assistant in pressing the buttons. I guess you know best the "B" and "5": as these are the only 2 buttons we allow you to press when we go to the condo. In fact, you also love to "zap" the key card to open the door. No one but you is allowed to do that

- Next to lifts, you also love escalators! Yup.. daddy took you up and down once while waiting for mummy in Gurney Plaza.. and that's the end of it. You will get all excited when you see an escalator

- Drive us all mad with your Barney VCDs. Yikes.. we keep having to watch it over and over again, that even Ah Kong knows the songs! Need to get more Barney VCDs

- Love to look at pictures. Especially our wedding picture. You even know that mummy has a picture in my purse and you would always open my purse and point to daddy saying "da-da".

- You love to be praised. In fact, even if no one praises you and you did something well, you will clap your hands. It's a sure way to get us to clap and praise you too

- Finally let mummy brush your teeth and NOT your tongue. You even try to brush your own teeth
- Love to self-feed.. of course that is a VERY messy affair!
- Best of all.. very generous with your kisses. Especially when it's time to go up to our room, or when you want your milk

Monday Blues..

Several things happened today. To kick start the day, you decided to wake up early today. And of course, since you were up, mummy and daddy had to wake up to accompany you too. Soon, mummy had to get ready to go to work. You were watching TV with daddy while mummy was picking my clothes when we heard a "thud". You had somehow fallen off the bed. Of course, the "thud" was followed by loud crying from you. Poor little baby. Thankfully, you calmed down after a while. Of course a lot of distraction was needed to divert your attention from that fall. You seemed ok by the time we left. Busy asking for this and that from your high chair. Even happily waving to us and also giving us flying kisses.

Daddy was still worried to know how you were, so we went home for lunch.Of course when it was time to leave, you were not as willing to let us go off as this morning...
Another thing that we discovered was that you have been using the potty to do your poo. Clever little boy. And mummy was thinking the potty (that was bought when you were 10 weeks old, could not resist the WTP potty sold at Mothercare) would not be used. Unless we consider you using the potty as a stool as putting it to good use! Ah Ma said that you also used the potty last Friday. Too bad we missed that. Hopefully we can see you in action soon!

Also, today at work, Tua Ku called mummy to say gpodbye as he was flying off to US. He also asked mummy to give you a big kiss from him. So here you go: *KISS*
