Some Peace is Good

I know that I've been tagged so many times and I have done NONE. So today, while waiting for my friends to go for lunch.. I picked the simplest one to do *wink* Aunty Joanne has tagged me so many times but I never got around to doing it. I think she's going to kill me soon. So here's one for you, Joanne...

The world needs peace. Who doesn't?Let's all love a little more and fight a lot less.. and we'll one day have world peace.

Won't be passing this tag.. I guess most people have been tagged. PEACE to EVERYONE.

I'm rich! I'm rich!

Ah.. of course that would be the first thing I would say if I suddenly got $1million. But.. I don't. Too bad. It's just a question posed by Aunty Joanne to me. So let's see what I would do if i had that $1million...

1. Go on holiday. First place I would like to go is to Italy. Of course, the trip would be pointless if you and daddy didn't come with me. So we will go on that long overdue honeymoon. Maybe we can go visit Tua Ku too..

2. Of course some of the money will be kept in the bank for future use along with invested to "grow" the money. After all you will need money for your education too.

3. Perhaps I would be able to realise my dream of being a PTWM. I'll be able to spend my time with you and yet have enough and don't have to worry about spending money...

4. Do a good bit of shopping for my favourite things and for my favourite people too...

5. Give some to the needy

Ok.. won't be tagging anyone this round, but if anyone would like to do so, feel free to continue from here:

She ain't heavy...

Of course I'm not going to disclose my weight, but I'll just let you know that it's still within the "ideal" weight range. Don't believe me? Have a look:
Your Weight is Ideal

Your BMI is 21.3 - a healthy BMI falls between 18.5 and 25

Congratulations, you are the perfect weight for your height.

Even though you may not be entirely happy with your weight, you are healthy.

So gain or lose a few pounds if you want, but don't go too crazy!

Don't agree? Blame the government standards we based this test on!

Why did I do this test? Because Aunty Joanne kindly
tagged me to do this test. See? I can still go without a diet. Still don't believe me? Lookie here.. daddy can still carry me..

Ok ok.. i cheated and took a very old picture. I'll go home and ask daddy to try and carry me! Truth be said, mummy still have some excess that needs to be lost, even thought I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. But nope.. lazy me will be too lazy to go out to exercise. Chasing you around the house is tiring enough!

7 Habits of A Highly Adorable Furbie

Ah.. you may well know that our little Furbie was de-throned was the "king of the house' upon your arrival. Well, let's move over for a moment and let Furbie have the limelight this time, as requested by Aunty Joyce. She wants to know 7 random things about Furbie.

1. Furbie is 42 doggy years old, come this September. Yup, rather old boy already.

2. He has a strict diet of biscuits for breakfast and wet food with rice at 7pm sharp. He knows when it's time for dinner. He will wait patiently at the door for Kakak Wati to bring him his food. He used to be able to take fruits but we stopped giving him when he had tummy problems. But nowdays, we have started giving him fruits again. Sigh.. he wants to have fruits too, since he sees that you are also having fruits.

3. He's potty trained, so he will do his business inside his cage. Don't know how Seh Ku did it, but Furbie was potty trained within a week. He will even go to the toilet and wait o have his bum cleaned.

4. And while we're on this topic, Furbie also loves to "recycle". Sigh.. if we do not pick up his poo immediately, you will notice that only some are left. Guess where the rest have gone to...

5. Furbie is still very precious to mummy, although mummy feels guilty that I cannot give him as much attention as I could before. So he goes for his grooming sessions regularly to keep him looking as cute as ever. On top of that, Wati ties up his hair every morning.

6. Furbie cannot stand noise. If the doorbell rings, or anyone horns at the gate, he would bark and bark and bark just to let you know someone is downstairs. He used to be great company to grampy as he would bark at grampy to tell him that the house phone is ringing.

7. Most importantly of all Furbie adores you. He will let you bully him. I've seen you kick him, and yet he will just walk away. I think any other dog would have given you a closer look at their teeth, but not Furbie. When you were young, he would always sleep near your cot when you were sleeping.

And so you see, this is our cute little Furbie. Mummy thinks you love him as much as he loves you, as when you walk around and spot Furbie, you would stop and sit right in front of him, and sometimes try to pet him too. Of course, your a bit chor-lor (rough) and you even tried several times to pull his fur. Actually, you did get a few bunches of his fur!
Not going to tag anyone.. but I wonder if Aunty Joanne would like to tell us about her 3 little monsters at home (not Kelvin... the dogs at home: Maggie, Mimi and BoyBoy)

Who's your mummy?

I'm the mummy, of course. Who else can be your mummy? Anyhow, Wei Xuan's mum tagged me and I'm supposed to decide between being a full time working mummy (FTWM) or a stay at home mummy (SAHM). Of course, there is the in-between that is to be a part time working mummy (PTWM). Ah.. and of course making a decision is very difficult and so this time, I'll be the fence sitter (OK fine, you can call me greedy) and opt to be a PTWM if I have to make a choice. That way I get the best of both worlds.Now let me tell you why I would like to be a PTWM (although I have no idea what part time job I can hold for now):

Firstly I would get to spend more time with you at home. I get the best of both worlds as in having quality and quantity time to spend with you. Who would not want to spend more time with you? After all you are only this little once in your life. Don't want to miss out on too much of your childhood. On top of that I get higher quantities of kisses and hugs from you! Double wow!

Being a part time mummy would mean I still have some income, so I get to indulge in you and me occasionally. Mummy would still be able to buy nice things for you. Then again, there's always that trusty supplementary credit card that daddy have given to me *wink*

Get to retain a wide network of friends who have different interests. Hey, by being in-between of being a FTWM and a SAHM, I get to meet other people who work and also other mummies when you go to school.

I have another point for being a PTWM. I get to learn from Ah Ma how to cook her yummy dishes. Hink Lerk's mummy commented once that Ah Ma must be a great cook, since she cooks up a storm every time there is a party. By the way, her seasoning for BBQ are to die for. I'm sure daddy would be glad of this point too, since he keeps asking me when I will be learning to cook for him. In case you don't know, he did most of the cooking when we were studying in Australia. Daddy's a good cook too.

~~~Instructions~~~
Here’s how it works:
1. So easy peasy, if you were given a choice, would you be a SAHM or FTWM? Just provide 3 darn good reasons.
2. Include your post link to the list below and Finally,
3. Tag another three mommies
1. Immomsdaughter prefers to be a SAHM
2. Miche prefers to be a SAHM too.
3. SYH prefers to be a PTWM
4. Everydayhealy prefers to be a SAHM
5. Angeleyes prefers to be WAHM
6. Giddy Tiger prefers to be an SAHM
7. Jin Miin prefer to be a PTWM
8. Angie perfers to be a PTWM
Now who shall I tag?
  1. Joanne (you knew this was coming eh?)
  2. Tiffany (how about another tag?)
Ok 2 will do.. I cannot think of anyone else to tag.. for now.
What's in your name?
Aiyo... just finished one tag and on to another.. Hin-Lerk's mummy tagged me on this. But a much simpler tag to do. Ok here goes.. as you know mummy and daddy are both "banana's" ie yellow on the outside, white in the inside, so in the selection of your name, mummy and daddy picked the English name, while Ah Kong was given the honour to help suggest a few Chinese names for you.
When mummy was 16 weeks pregnant, Dr Ng confirmed that you were a boy. So mummy went online to look for names and borrowed books from friends and even ee-ee on baby names. We finally narrowed down to Ethan, Dylan, Elijah and Gerald and they all got rejected. Everyone could think of how the name could be wrongly pronounced of made fun of. After looking around further, daddy and I finally agreed on Evan. Mummy started calling you "Evan" the moment we agreed on your name.Well, the original meaning that made us pick this name was "Little Warrior" in Celtic. But today upon receiving this "assignment" I also discovered that Evan in Welsh means "The Lord is gracious" and that it's a variant to the name John.Hhmm.. new discovery.
Next is the second part of your name. The Chinese name: Khai Siong. Ah Kong bought this book specially to look for a name for you:
He saw a lot of names that sounded nice. In fact this book is very interesting (someone told me so) as it will tell you the name and which person with that name that was famous, rich, kind etc etc. So began the search for a suitable name for you. I think the search for a nice Chinese name for you was the more difficult part. There are so many "pantang-larang" to abide by. For one, it must not be the same of any relative. So some words could not be used. On top of that, even similar sounding words, could not be used such as "jia" which sounds like mummy's "chia". And something about the number of strokes to suit your name.
As your ETA was fast approaching, Ah Ma had to push Ah Kong to quickly come up with some good suggestions. Otherwise, you won't have a name when you were born. So finally, Ah Kong and daddy came up with 万凯雄. Daddy even became a pro at using the Internet to look for words, based on the pinyin along with the meaning.
Ahem, that's why this morning when presented with this assignment, I had to quickly get the writing and meaning from daddy. Ok, ok.. I will admit (again) I do not know how to write your name in Chinese still. Like I had mentioned before, we also had to screen through the names to ensure that the selected name cannot be made into some joke. We also needed to decide how to spell your name. We weren't too keen on the pinyin spelling, so we changed it.
As for the meaning, Ban 万 is simple to write and simply means 10,000. Next time if when you learn to play mahjong, you will definitely know this word! As for Khai 凯, it means victorious. And Siong 雄 means hero. So somehow, your name has a lot of "heroes and warriors".
There, the meaning of Evan Ban Khai Siong.
Find out more about daddy and mummy
Oo.. you wanna know some secrets about mummy and daddy? Well, it's a bit difficult to write on daddy's behalf as the original tag from Aunty Joyce was to name 10 of my habits that daddy finds annoying, but mummy decided to make it fair, so will go with the other tag that Aunty Joyce did: 5 for each of us! Here goes nothing...
How mummy drives daddy crazy:
1. Leave my things everywhere: And when I want it, I cannot find them, and he will be scolded when I cannot find them. I also have a perpetual pile of clothes on his computer table chair! Only remove them after he nags me. And it will be back in the next few days again.
2. Talk till the cows come home: He says I can talk and talk and talk. Last week in the car he told me I've been talking from the time I got into the car at the factory until we reached home. And the moment he tells me "sshhh", i will sulk and NOT speak to him.
3. Always want to go shopping: Every weekend, daddy knows that's where I want to go. Even on weekdays. He knows that lunch at Queensbay is the best place to go. Even though I have nothing in particular to buy. I used to love window shopping. And daddy will complain that we walked the whole mall for 4-5 hours and I did not buy anything. I think he regrets saying that now... considering what I bought when we went to KL. Now he's afraid of shopping in case I lose control again.
4. Have too many handbags, clothes & shoes: He lost his cool once when he opened his closet door and my handbag attacked him. He got angry and packed them neatly into a larger bag. So now I don't have any license to buy anymore handbags. But daddy is very sweet. He "forgot" and bought me a handbag when he went to US and another from Japan. As for clothes, my closet is overflowing and some are now kept in the closet in the next room, but I keep wearing the newer clothes only. In the case of shoes... I think I'll let you find out more on your own. If I type any more, I think I will be banned permanently from any shopping complexes by daddy.
5. Step on the invisible brake: Perhaps it's because I'm used to sitting in the backseat with you, so whenever I'm in the front seat when we go to work, I get really jumpy when daddy goes too near to the car in front. So I will step on the invisible brake. Luckily they don't have another brake on my side of the car. And yet I'm the backseat driver, telling him to overtake that st*pid car, press the horn...
The little things daddy does that drives mummy nuts:
1. Golf, golf and more golf: I'm sure daddy is thinking "I knew it, I knew it" as he reads this blog. Haha.. He used to have "license" to play only 27 holes of golf each weekend. But somehow, it's extended to 36 holes. Hhmmm... I think we need to re look the original "contract". But good thing is that he plays morning games, so we still have time to do my favourite thing: Please refer to item#3 above. Shopping la..
2. Channel surfing: Yup, we have the full package for Astro so he will hog the controller the moment he gets into bed. Even you cannot wrestle the controller from daddy. Maybe next time when you can ask for it, he'll let you have the controller? Worst still daddy loves to watch the sports channels. I hate them! Then again, it's never on the same channel for long.
3. Spends a lot of time on his throne: How can a person sit for so long on the toilet, is beyond me. Worst still having to endure the aroma... all this just to read a few more pages of the Archie comic! Even though he's read it a million times before.
4. Plays too much computer games: Daddy loves those tactical games and also (not surprisingly la) Tiger Woods golf. The moment he restarts a new game, he will be at it for hours up till late at night. Sigh..
5. Zones out when he's focused on something: When daddy's doing something say, watching TV or playing his games, he will be so focused that he does not hear anything that I say. Actually, he hears me, but does not respond. He may realise later that I'm staring at him.. then he will give me his delayed answer. Arrggghhh.. pulling hair!
Ok all done. Phew.. took me a long time. Tags are exhausting. I hope this doesn't trigger WW III when we go home today. Then again, I'm sure daddy has more to add to "his" list! On another note, we have our little things that ticks each other off, but hey, that's what spices up this marriage!
Time to tag some people.. muahahhahaaaa...
* Kelvin's mummy and daddy - your turn to spend time on this
* Hin Lerk's mummy and daddy - Joyce said she wanted to tag you.. so I will do it..
Tag: My 5 Wishes for Evan
Got tagged by Shooi a while back. But of course, I'm very outdated (when it comes to reading blogs)and also a big procrastinator. Here goes:
- Sleep through the night: I think that is every mummy's wish. Some lucky mums get to sleep through the night earlier than others. I hope my turn comes soon
- Have lesser falls & injuries: Seems like you are getting quite a lot of bruises from falls. Hopefully you will have fewer such painful experiences. Then again, daddy says you look more macho (?) with the bruises. More like a boy! On top of that, have a better skin that won't react badly to bites.
- Get to enjoy mummy's cooking: Sadly mummy cannot cook very well. Or should I say "cannot cook at all!". I remember the first time I cooked moi for you in nanna's house you made your "throw-up" face throughout the meal. So looks like I need more "training" from Ah Ma.
- Be potty trained: So far you are able to poo-poo and pee-pee when we take you to the toilet and ask you to pee-pee or poo-poo. Hopefully, soon you will be able to indicate that you want to go pee or poo.
- Health and Happiness always: Of course every parent wishes this for their child. And you are no exeption. We love you a lot and wish nothing but the best for you always.
There.. phew.. I thought that it would be simple, but when forced to sit down and think... next time I will write more when I think of it.
Won't be tagging anyone, but if any of our reader likes this, please post your 5 wishes for your baby and share them with us.
