Wedding Lunch in KL

We had a light breakfast before getting ready nd heading to Tropicana Golf Resort where Uncle Hun Kheng's wedding lunch was held.
Evelyn fell asleep on the way there but woke up the moment we reached the hall. Lunch was good and you both enjoyed the good food. Even needed a diaper change.
The highlight of the day was when it was time to yum seng. Look at you lifting your drink in cheers to the new couple and joining in by shouting yum seng too:

Our Second Day in KL

We lazed in bed on Saturday morning.  So we were rather late for breakfast. But not too late. We still managed to try out quite a few things from the very large breakfast selection.
After a leisurely shower we headed to 1 Utama next door for a little walkie walkie. Bought some things and you both were starting to get restless and tired. So we headed back to the room where Evelyn fell asleep quickly while you snacked and watched TV.
It looked dark outside and daddy offered to bring you swimming before the rain came but you insisted that you wanted all 4 of us to go swimming.  So since Evelyn had napped for almost 2 hours we woke her up and went swimming.
The water was cold and the wind didn't make things better.  So after 20 mins or se Evelyn and I went back to the room for a warm shower and went back down to join you as you had your hot chocolate.
Later on we went to Uncle Hun Kheng's house for dinner and you both had a wonderful time playing in his really big house.
Went back  and we all KO-ed almost as soon as our heads touched the pillow.

A Short Holiday

It was a good coincidence that daddy's uni mate had his wedding during the school holidays.  Luckily we had enough time to plan a short getaway to KL too. Managed to get a room in One World Hotel which was the company's corporate hotel so we got a good rate.
Planned to leave on Friday after breakfast but you decided to have a tummy ache so another detour home before starting the journey.
We arrived on time for lunch which was a quick bite at Ikea followed by some walkie walkie.
Checked into the hotel and Mei-mei continued to nap for a while. By the time she woke up it rained so no swimming. Instead, we headed to Jakes for our steak fix... more accurately yours and daddy's.  Mei-mei got her "balloon fix".
When we'd finished with dinner we headed to BSC to do a little shopping.  Boy was it crowded.  Daddy had to go very far down to finally get a parking spot.
Went back and shortly you both fell asleep. Or maybe mummy slept first.. it sure was a long day.

Daddy's Boss

Hi, it's me Evelyn.  Yup I am daddy's boss. Loook at me supervising daddy as he makes my favourite fruit yogurt. Yes, he's adding mangoes to the yogurt and I need to make sure he does a good job!!
Mummy on the other hand was busy taking pictures of me doing my job. And I even had to take my eyes off daddy to pose for her. What a tough job.
But the best part was the taste test. Yummy.. Slurp!  Good job, daddy. Kiss kiss.

Cool Kids

You were both watching Barney and there was an episode where the kids were by the beach wearing sunglasses. Knowing that there were sunnies from a long time back. Ko-ko took 2 pairs, one for him and another for you...

Spotty at 23 Months Old

How did you get so spotty? Because you love stickers and would tell mummy "aand" (hand) and stick out your hands to me asking for them knowing that I keep them in my bag. After you've gotten two for your hands you'll say "toeshh" for more to be stuck on your feet. Sometimes you'd given some to Ko-ko too.
Other times even the "paid" tape which we get from9m the supermarket is good enough for you.

Evan's Sword

Asked for cardboard in this color then dug for my scissors next asked for tape then double sided tape and asked me to help cut.. just to make your "fei tao". I have no idea what it's supposed to be. Lo9ks like  double sided sword. It's still WIP as the sword need to be flattened since the cardboard I gave you was rolled up.
Next you asked for this cardboard and that and ended up with this sword:

Even made a mini one for Mei-mei but it's already missing.

Back to her Cheerful Self

Thank goodness the our little cheerful baby is back. Only in short bursts but rather than the lethargic and whinging baby:

Scary Week

It's been a long week. When we thought that your fever was over it came back again... with a vengeance!!
As Friday was 5 days of fever we headed to the ER on Saturday morning to see Dr. Mary (it was not a working day so we needed to go there). As we waited to see her you had another round of diarrhoea.  The ER nurse kindly let me use one of the gurney in there to change you. I was shocked to discover that there was blood in your stools. Just as I mentioned it to the nurse, Dr. Mary walked in and also saw it. She looked grave as she mentioned that it looks like a bacterial infection rather than viral. As you also cried before you pass motion it indicated colic. You were prescribed antibiotics as your gut was infected as indicated by the blood. She said to expect you to have poor appetite due to the Flagyl antibiotics. You were not to take diary products and also sweet foods.
Your fever stopped yesterday and you no longer seemed to lethargic.  Today, you developed a rash and when Dr. Mary returned my call said it was a good sign. It meant you had Roseola and this rash is the end of it except to continue with the antibiotics still due to your gut infection.
I'm glad it's something minor after all. Get better soon, darling.  *kiss*kiss*

Sick Evelyn

You've been down with the fever since Monday afternoon.  Yesterday Ah Ma called to say your temperature hit 39°.
As she wasn't too sure on administering the suppository,  I had to leave the office earlier. Went home to give you a long bath which effectively brought down your temperature but it went up again, so I had to give you the suppository.  Poor thing. 10 minutes later was the paracetamol.
We had a doctor's appointment to se Dr. Mary to make sure that you had nothing more than a ever. Daddy dropped us off thinking he had time to pick up some things from Cold Storage. Ended up after a big struggle to get your weight we almost saw Dr. Mary immediately probably because of your high temperature. So after picking the medicine daddy arrived to pick us.
Ko-ko was very worried about you.  He kept asking about you. This morning he kept wetting his hands to cool you off.
Again, this afternoon your temperature shot up and daddy and I rushed home to check on you.  Ah Ma had given you a bath while waiting for us. Then she tried to give you the suppository.  Your temperature for now is ok. Hopefully you'll be ok already.

Alan Ku-ku is Back

As usual he's back for the shortest trip ever. A stopover before he begins his meetings in Shanghai.
Love it that you kids just take to him so well,  especially Mei-mei who was too young when you met him last year.

Ouch!! Naughty Evelyn

As usual you love to drink water from Ko-ko's water bottle, even though you have your own bottle. And of course, Ko-ko would rather you don't drink from his bottle. So last weekend, Ko-ko yelled at you when he noticed you drinking from his bottle and snatched the bottle from you (even though we've told him many time not to grab as he might pull off your teeth when pulling from your mouth! This is because the moment he yells at you, you'd quickly try to drink as much water as possible from the bottle hence the bottle is in your mouth)

So what did you do inretaliation? Bite him back. As you are obvously shorter than him, you bit him right on his tummy, just above his belly button. Of course, it was super painful and so Ko-ko yelled and started crying. Poor Ko-ko. You got told off for biting Ko-ko but obviously it did not stop you from biting after that incident. Naughty Evelyn!

Our 10th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

It was a wonderful simple dinner with the family at our favourite restaurant, Feringghi Grill. We had to celebrate one the weekend after the actual day as we could not get a reservation the weekend before. There was also Ah Kong, Ah Ma, Nanna, Grampy, Teo-teo and Ee-ee having dinner with us. Simply love this restaurant. Beacuse there was children under 8, we were given a room. And we had our own waiter. The day before and on the actual day, the restaurant called to inquire if we wanted to pre-order some specific food so as to reduce the waiting time. On top of that, they even helped me with a special request for Mei-mei to have some chips served for her.
Here's the both of you all dressed up for the dinner:

And this was some of the food we were served:

On top of that, dinner ended with the usual petit four and also a little chocolate cake for us:

Share!

Ko-ko was eating the cake he baked and you were eating some too. Daddy walked by and realised he was feeding you. He exclaimed "Are you feeding Mei-mei?". Before Ko-ko could respond, you shouted at daddy "SHARE!!".
Oops... daddy had no response to that. Of course, Ko-ko was careful to feed you very small bites. Either so that you don't choke or so the he gets a bigger share of the 2 slices of cake, I'm still proud to witness this loving moment between you.
Love this picture of you both sharing the cake.

Very Creative Evan

I have mentioned that I love the building blocks you've got.  It's very good for your creativity and imagination.  I showed you this picture from Facebook as you and Evelyn were playing with the blocks:

Less than 5 minutes later you showed me this:
Looks quite similar, complete with the ribbon surrounding the cake.

Nap Time

You love to be cuddled when you take your nap. Here's daddy cuddling you as you take a nap today:

Paging Evan

We went to school today to pick up Ko-ko after his Wushu session.  As usual there was still a big crowd of children waiting to be picked up.
As we wqlked in you called out yo Ko-ko "Eh-wan... Eh-wan" at thr top of your little voice. It was hilarious.  Of course, Ko-ko could not hear you but he was grinning when he spotted us.
You learnt to say Ko-ko's name when we were in Camerons.  And when you say his name, he'll pretend to get angry and tickle you much to your delight.
I love the way you both play and how you enjoy playing with each other.

It's never outdated. .. your building blocks.  You've been playing it since you got it I think over 5 years ago. Now it's also entertaining Evelyn.
This is your latest creation.  The market which comes complete with car park and cars:

Evan's Special Burger

Forgot to post about this big burger you had for supper in Cameron Highlands.  Chim Poh had read about it in the papers before we had gone to Camerons.  In fact the restaurant was very near to the apartment. So on our second night there we walked to the restaurant to order your supper... right after dinner.
Look at the size of the burger.  It's as big as the plate and half the height of the mineral water bottle!

Day3: Time to Say Goodbye

As it was the last day we still had 1 more thing to do before heading home: to eat scones. *grin*
So after everyone was ready, we headed downstairs to walk to the Tanah Rata township. While waiting for daddy and Chek Kong to talk to the building management office manager, we walked around and took some pictures:

After they were done, we took a stroll along the shops in Tanah Rata and Evelyn kept getting excited when she spotted a shop selling "ball-ball". We finally reached the end of the small township and coming to the place which was recommended by Ee-ee and friends (and also Chim Poh) to have scones and some light snacks. These are among the food we ordered:

Strawberry and plain scones and apple pie with ice-cream

Early morning banana split for you

Posing with your banana split (Mei-mei took this picture.. 8 shots of the same pose!!)

After brunch, we were planning for another snack after loading the car of roti canai.. But in the end we left without eating because it started to rain.

The drive back to Ipoh was quite ok, despite the drizzle. We had something light and rest in Ipoh before our drive back to Penang.

Happy Father's Day

As we had a late night on Saturday, you could not wake up on time to prepare daddy's Father's Day breakfast.  But you are fair... since mummy had one daddy still should have one.. so you prepared tea for daddy instead.
Here's Chef Evan's masterpiece:

Day 2: Adventure in Cameron Highlands

First stop after dropping Ah Ma and Chim Poh off was the strawberry farm. The last time we went was with Sue Kor-kor and we had dropped by the Strawberry Park Resort, thinking that the farm was on the way there, daddy drove us up there only to discover we remembered wrongly. So down we went that steep, narrow hill road again.

We had spotted a strawberry farm at the bottom of this hill but it turned out to be the wrong one. Oops.. u-turn and off we went again. Finally we headed towards the sign which said "Healthy Strawberry Farm". Again, we drove up a windy and narrow road before reaching our destination. And yay, it was the same as the one we went to last time.

So we parked along the road (nope there was no proper parking) and headed into the farm. There were soem tourists around and we spotted the sign which said "strawberry picking, 1 box for RM25 with entry for 2 person". So I paid for 1 box and we headed in the direction the shop worker pointed out to us. We waited a while before the farm worker came. He was kind enough to let us all go in (his bosses were busy at the shop). So daddy took pictures of Ko-ko picking strawberries.

While waiting, he chatted with us and even picked a strawberry for you. Of course, you immediately started to eat your favourite fruit:

Even had time for you to take some selfies:
Ko-ko picked a grand total of 8 strawberries when he declared he was done. The worker kept asking him to pick more, but he said he was done. In the end, the nice man filled up our box. We went back to the shop for him to seal the box and put it into a plastic bag for us.

We walked around a bite more, admiring the strawberries and many other plants before leaving.

Next stop was the Boh tea plantation. We had spotted the Sungai Palas road which leads to the Boh Tea Plantation. It was rather sttep, but we decided to try it out. As we approached the Kea Farm the traffic was really heavy. So we decided to turn back. We were trying to decide between going home or to go to Habu where the other Boh Tea Plantation was. Phew.. it was a long drive, but at least you got to nap.

As we drove into the intersection it said 6 km to the plantation. We were initially quite happy that the road was quite wide. Unfortunately, it got narrower and narrower as we approached the plantation. It became from two lane to single lane road. Soon your Ko-ko was getting nervous. He even said to daddy "I think you should u-turn back home". Haha. The view was spectacular:

But we continued on until we finally reached the plantation. It sure wasn't easy to park our car. There were many visitors there. First stop was the factory tour. We waited for around 5 minutes before the tour began. Unfortunately, it was in BM and Ko-ko could not understand the lady.

Unfortunately it was raining by the time the tour was over. We wanted to look at the shop and maybe have a cup of tea. But the shop was too crowded. So we gave up and headed back to the car and back to Tanah Rata.

A long day, but we all had fun. I'll load more pictures of the strawberry farm when I get the pictures from daddy's camera.

Playing Foosball

What happens when I play foosball and you have Evelyn as a partner?

I end up losing because my goalie keeps mysteriously giving open goals to Ko-ko.

Day 2: Breakfast in Cameron Highlands

Daddy decided that since we were in a cold weathered place, it would be nice to have a "Western Breakfast". The choice was between Ye Old Smokehouse or Cameron Highlands Resort. In the end, we headed to Cameron Highlands Resort and had a yummy breakfast.

Happiness as we were served warm bread at our table and you are enjoying your cereal with cold milk.

Natalie Kor-kor said mummy only posted pictures of Evelyn on Facebook, so took this one with Chim Poh to be posted there. I'm a fair mummy.. *grin*

Here is naughty Evelyn who did not want to eat anything we gave her. In the end she only ate the fresh fruits. Surprisingly, she wasn't even interested in the yogurt which she usually shares with you at home..

We left after a yummy and late breakfast. Dropped Ah Ma and Chim Poh at the Tanah Rata township as they wanted to buy some things before going home. If you are wondering where Ah Kong and Chek Kong were... where else, but the golf course.. just across the road from us. (We even spotted then when we arrived at the hotel!!)

Hello Cameron Highlands

We were in Ipoh on Saturday as there was a ceremony for daddy's second Ah Ma where they moved her grave to a crematorium instead. So after the ceremony and dinner on Sunday, we continued our journey to Cameron Highlands for a short holiday on Monday.

5th Chek Kong and Chim Poh joined us (we stayed at their apartment). After a leisurely brunch we packed and off we went to Cameron Highlands. It would be a first for Evelyn while your last trip there was very long ago. The drive up was easy and traffic was OK, with the exception of the usual crawl at the Kea Farm while the holiday makers making a last stop before they left Cameron Highlands.

The first thing we needed to do upon arrival (after climbing the 4 flight of staircase) was to clean up. The last time Chim Poh were up there was almost a year ago! So imagine the dust and dirt in the house. While Ah Kong kept Evelyn occupied, the rest of us set to cleaning up the house, sweeping, mopping, washing and many more things. Even you helped out. I'm so proud of my useful little boy.

After around 2 hours of cleaning, we sat down to enjoy some of the food we packed up there and also when we looked out, it was misty and very cool outside.

Soon it was almost dinner time. Evelyn decided to take a nap so we let her nap for around 45 minutes before I woke her up to go for dinner. Dinner was at the usual restaurant in Brinchang and while waiting for our table, daddy took Evelyn out for a walk and that was when she saw it...

The "bor-bor" (ball-ball). Yup, our ball crazy little girl spotted many shops selling balls. So as we were leaving we spotted a shop selling souvenirs and Chim Poh decided to get her a strawberry ball. Happiness for the little girl...

Balloon Addicts

The moment we reached Gurney Plaza today, you spotted someone carrying a balloon.  Immediately you told daddy "bor-bor" (ball ball).
So after buying a new pair of school shoes for Ko-ko, we went in search for a balloon for you.  Unfortunately, we walked to both the new and old wing but there wasn't any one giving out balloons.  We even tried our luck with the Bobbi Brown shop where you got your balloon on Saturday.  But no luck.
As we walked around in search for the illusive balloon, you kept turning to daddy and asking him in your really sad voice "bor-bor? ".
In the end, just before we left, I tried my luck at the Baskin Robbins booth. I saw that they had balloons on the way down but wasn't sure if they'd give me one if we didn't buy anything from them.  But the guy was really nice. We got not 1 but 2 balloons as Ko-ko also wanted one.
Look at the two happy faces:

Happy Mother's Day

Our Mother's Day celebration began on Saturday with a home cooked steak dinner by daddy for everyone.

On Sunday morning, you cooked me scrambled eggs.  It came complete with a label "Evan's McMummy  Meal"
Evelyn on the other hand started to give me lots of kisses when she noticed Ko-ko giving me kisses.
After our late breakfast, you even helped to wash up.
I was thinking that I missed the little cards you used to bring home from kindy for these special occasions but hey, you decided on this special idea without anyone making the suggestion.  I'm so proud and happy.
Thank you my 3 darling for this wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

2 Kiddies and Selfies

Looks like you are both also into selfies.. especially since Evelyn discovered which button to press when the camera on my phone is turned on.
