2015 Early Reunion Dinner

Since we had the time we planned for an earlier reunion dinner with the Yeoh's.
The menu was steamboat which Nanna had bought most of the ingredients. We also bought additional sliced beef and drinks.
Dinner went through from 6.30 until close to 9pm. Slow and steady and we almost finish all the food prepared for dinner.

Happy Birthday, Grampy

We headed back to BM for an early celebration of Grampy's birthday on Sunday.  We planned to go after your music class but ended missing music class and yet going over late as mummy was not feeling well and when I got up from my nap, Mei-mei just fell asleep so we waited for her to wake up before getting into daddy's car and heading to BM.
Shortly after we arrived Ee-ee and Teo-teo came and we had the yummy "birthday noodles" for dinner.
Rested and chatted a while before moving on to the cake. As usual it was photo time followed by a song which Evelyn could join in singing this time. Of course, the both of you got to help blow the candle and Mei-mei helped cut the cake too.

Morning Photo Session

This is your request every morning... a photo before getting into daddy's car to head to school:

Swing Time

We spent some of Tuesday at the playground nearby. This is our second time here. It seems to be rather popular with many children playing on the slides and swings and others running, cycling and older kids playing basketball.
Here are the two of you playing on the swing. You joined us after you gave up jogging with daddy:

Passport

We had a replacement holiday and Ko-ko had an extended holiday due to the floods in the east coast so we all woke up early to have our passports made. Yup we had to get passports for you, Ko-ko and I.
Unfortunately, many other people had the same idea. When we reached it was a very long queue just to get a number. When we finally got our turn the officer suggested that we brought you to take your picture from outside. So since we had a lot of time to kill we walked down the street and found a shop which took a rather decent picture of you. After that we had to wait a long long time before finally getting our pictures taken and making payments.
Then we went off for a late lunch then home for a shower as we were all so hot and sticky fom the long wait in the passport office.
Two hours later Ah Kong dropped us at thw office to pick up the passports.  Thinking it was a short wait, but in the end we waited another two hours to pick up the passports. Phew what a long day.
This is your passport.  Thank goodness your swollen eye is not so obvious.  This is no thanks to forgetful mummy who gave you peanuts the night before, making you have an allergic reaction although you didn't even swallow the nuts. You just chewed and spat them out. Scared the living daylights out of me!

Want Daddy

That's what you said when asked who you wanted to bring you to your class. Daddy tried on Monday and you cried your eyes out, breaking his heart. Although you actually stopped in less than 5 minutes of him leaving you with Miss Beh.
On Tuesday,  he spoke to you, carried you a bit before leaving you to fuss for less than 1 minute.
Today there were no tears at all much to daddy's happiness.
Hope all goes well from now onwards.  Now, if you'd only stop saying "Mei-mei don't want go school" to me on the way to school.

Evelyn's First Week in School

We were hoping the second day would get better. But you had your own ideas. You started the morning telling Kakak that the milk was "eek-eek". Kept asking her to wash the bottle. That was the first time the bottle was 100% fresh milk. So almost the whole bottle was left untouched. You licked the 2 biscuits and left them too.
Headed to school and you were your usual chatty self until we got nearer to school and I noticed that you got more quieter. When we reached you refused to walk, asking to be carried. Walked into your classroom and the very excited assistance offered to help you and that was when you started to cry and cry and I had to leave you there. Dadday walked in to peep at you but you were still crying.
During lunch, Miss Beh called to inform me that you cried then fell asleep in class. Woke up in a better mood and ate the snack she gave you then joined the craft session before going home.
You still cried every morning when I dropped you for the rest of the week, but Miss Beh told me that you stopped quickly after we leave.  Then you talk a lot and even tell others what to do.
Hope the next week gets better.

Here you were all smiles before crying and falling asleep on Tuesday

Evelyn's First Day of School

You seemed ok when we got ready for school.  Then Ah Ma drove us to school as daddy had to go attend an important meeting. We arrived at 9.15 thinking we were early.  Oops... somehow I got the time wrong.  School starts at 9 not 9.30!!! Late to school on the first day.
We walked into school together but your footsteps got smaller as you got more nervous as we reached your classroom.
The teacher's assistant helped tou keep your bag in the shelf and took out your water and handkerchief.
Thrn Miss Beh spoke to me for a while (you played with some toys) before telling you to say "goodbye" to mummy. That was when you started to cry. But Misss Beh quickly took you to wash your hands and soon after you were ok.
I stayed around peeping at you in class playing and eating the cake they served then went off for a while.
Came back and when it was time to pick you, you barely gave Miss Beh her hug before running to me.
We chatted in the car and you even told me you'd dropped your cake. All seemed well... or so I thought.

Going to School or Work?

Have been talking to you about going to school, prepping you and hopefully tomorrow will be a good first day of nursery.
We had bought you a new bag to bring to school.  You picked this design.
Yesterday, I realised that you kept putting in you "laptop" into your school bag.
I guess you have noticed that mummy and daddy bring ours to work so you naturally packed yours too *grin*

Try And See First

You asked to eat an Oreo biscuit today. As expected, you opened the biscuit and proceeded to lick at the cream. When I sat down you pushed the other half without the cream for me to eat:
Mummy: I don't want that. So yucky...
Evelyn: Try and see first!!

Sigh, can't argue with that.  Had to pop the yucky thing into my mouth.

Nyeh-nyeh-nyeh Boo-boo

That's what you said in the middle of the night. Daddy was just getting ready to sleep when you sat up from your sleep and said "Nyeh-nyeh-nyeh Boo-boo" then went baxk to sleep.

Lunch and Shopping in KL

Lunch on our second day was a treat for Dim Sum in Ritz-Carlton Hotel by Ashley Kor-kor. They dropped by the hotel to pick us up and headed there in Uncle Dennis' car. As we got off the car, there was this petty Christmas tree. And we took a picture of you with Uncle Dennis.

After a yummy lunch, we headed to Starhill so that we could cross over to Pavilion. Before that, we took our customary picture at the chair. Here are the both of you posing in the chair. Ko-ko was very good with the picture, while you could not sit still long enough for mummy to take a nice one of you *sigh*

As we looked down at the other hotel lobby, there was a really large teddy bear with many more little bears in front of the Christmas tree.

We were just in time as the moment we crossed the street, it started to drizzle. Daddy who was pushing you in the stroller quickly ran to the nearest entrance so that you didn't get wet. Inside we headed to the center atrium which had the beautiful Christmas decorations.

We walked around a bit more, admiring the decorations and then did a little shopping. After that we took a break for coffee and desserts. Then we went back to the car and headed back to the hotel for a rest.

Our First Dinner in KL

We went back to the room for a rest and for Mei-mei to have a nap. Then we headed to the club lounge for some pre-dinner cocktails. There was some snacks too which you took and enjoyed the cheese selection most. Of course, you picked the blue cheese too. You went there first with daddy as Mei-mei was still sleeping. A few minutes after you both wen upstairs, she woke up, so we headed upstairs too.

After the snacks, we went down for the both of you to take a shower and were ready just as Ashley Kor-kor and Uncle Dennis arrived. They gave you both your presents and after chatting a while, we headed off to The Intermark where I had reservations for dinner at The Beast.

It was a lovely restaurant with good food and great service. Daddy ordered wine to go with dinner and Mei-mei shared Kor-kors dinner (eating her fish and chips).

After dinner, we took some pictures with the big sign saying "BEAST" at the front of the restaurant.
We headed back to the room for another bottle of wine and laughter with your Kor-kor and Uncle before they headed home. And we all went to bed after a long, long day.

First Day of Our Holiday

We woke up early to have a headstart on our travel for fear of heavy traffic on the highway. Before heading to the bridge, we had a detour to buy ang koo kuih for Uncle Dennis.
It was a rainy drive. But traffic wasn't too bad. Mei-mei fell asleep most of the drive down and we reached the hotel after getting a little confused by Waze. It was only just past 12 but we managed to check in to our room.
Since it was lunch time, we headed to the food court in the Convention Center which was right in front of Aquaria. Bought some food from the Fuel Shack. As usual, mei-mei requested for rice. So while feeding her with some potato chip, daddy went looking for some non-spicy rice.
After we finished with our lunch, we joined the queue to buy entrance tickets. It wasn't too long before we got into Aquaria. There was quite a large crowd. Daddy took Mei-mei out of the stroller so that she could have a closer look at the fishes. She sure had fun. First thing she did was to touch the starfish. Daddy got permission to lift it out of the water so that she could touch it. Some othe rpeople aso took the opportunity to touch the starfish as daddy held on to it. Then they went to look at other fishes while you took a look at the piranhas.

Daddy was showing mei-mei fishes and this was a conversation I overheard:
Daddy: See Evelyn? This is fish.
Evelyn: No..eel
Daddy looked over at me to see if I heard. And yes, she was right, it was eels. Now how did she know that??

Then I had to go down using the lift access as I was pushing the stroller with daddy's camera inside while he took the both of you to walk down the staircase. Got this picture of the 3 of you looking at the fishes.

We walked further and reached the travelator. This is where you get to go under the tanks to look at the fishes, sharks and many marine life swiming around. We took two rounds.

But when we got out the second time, it was shark feeding time and the tank was just outside the travelator. So we got stuck as there was a big crowd sitting and waiting for the feeding session. Daddy tried to help you get a view of the feeding.. by putting you on his shoulders. Gosh.. managed to catch a blur picture of you sitting on his shoulders. Could not hold my phone still as Mei-mei would not stand still. Strong daddy...

We finally quickly walk through the rest of the aquarium which was very crowded, stopped at the shop where you bought a new shark (since you old shark was not nice) and Mei-mei picked her pink fish. We had a quick stop which I had paid RM5 for at the Moon lab where you got to color on the paper and then see your artwork "swim".

Here you are coloring your shark:

And you are posing with your multi-colored shark:

And Mei-mei also got to pose with you and the swimming art works:
After that, we headed back to the room for a rest before dinnertime.

Little Artists at Work

Sometimes when you are both good, you can sit quietly and do something together.
See... here is a drawing of a snow globe with a Christmas tree inside. Mei-mei says her is the same thing as yours... what do you think?
I think you both drew a beautiful piece or art.

Where's Evelyn?

Can you spot her?

Christmas Tree Bully

Daddy was chatting with me about what you did:
Daddy: That naughty girl, she purposely knock into the Christmas tree with her ride on. Despite my warning to her not to do it.
Mummy: Then what happened?
Daddy: I smacked her on her thigh
Evelyn: Da-da kiss

When I looked at daddy, he laughed and admitted that he did kiss you because he felt guilty for hitting a little too hard. Not sure if was planning on admitting to kissing you but you let the cat out of the bag for him.

And of course, after that you continued to knock into the tree. Last Sunday one of the bulbs on the fairy lights even broke when you crashed into the tree.

But seems like you are better behaved after that.

Updated (17 Dec): my mistake. You "crashed" into the tree twice last night!!

A Belated Birthday Dinner

We decided onVia Pre which we haven't gone in a while. It was a good thing I made reservations. It was packed but I reckon we were given a nice table away from the crowd.
We had a great selection of food from the lobster pasta to share to the main courses we individually ordered to the wine daddy ordered for the night. You both had a good time with Evelyn behaving very well in her high chair and when she eventually got off the chair, she just played around out table and the long bench next to our table.

We then went home to complete the meal with the wonderful sliced cakes we had bought in the afternoon. Even Evelyn had a share of the chocolate cake which she obviously enjoyed:

Happy Birthday, Daddy

Here are the both of you helping daddy blow the candle off the "Ice-cream Cake" created by Ko-ko.
Happy birthday to the world's greatest daddy.

Evan's Model

A favourite thing for you to do is to take pictures of your creations.  So after building this car ramp from Evelyn's many Barney DVDs you decided to take a picture.
Like the car display at the malls, you also have a pretty girl modelling your creation:

Choo-choo Train Ride

We went to Gurney Plaza today and daddy brought you to look your latest fascination, the Christmas tree. On our way to the new wing, we spotted something nice and interesting.

I planned to let you ride with Mei-mei by yourselves.  But the man running the ride was worried Evelyn get afraid halfway during the ride. So he asked mummy to join in the ride but just paying for 2. But we paid for 3 to be fair to them.

So here are the 3 of us smiling at daddy, enjoying ourselves:

Evelyn Self-feeding

As usual if mummy lets you have lunch, you will end up self-feeding. Today you fed yourself while I took pictures of you enjoying lunch.
Halfway through lunch, you said "chu chu tain (train)" before putting the spoonful of porridge in your mouth. This was something you picked up from Nanna when she fed you dinner over two weeks ago.  Seems like your long term memory is improving as I didn't expect you to remember that simple game she played with you to get you to finish dinner.
Love the way you eat your food, as if it's the best food ever:

Haircut Again

As usual it was time for Ko-ko to have his haircut. This time, you also needed a cut and not just trim your fringe. The hair at the back is getting quite long and it irritates you when you eat... especially when the fan is blowing at you.
So many days before we went for your haircut, mummy had no prep you:
Mummy: uncle cut hair for you,ok?
Evelyn: ha (that's how you say "yes")
Mummy: will you cry?
Evelyn: no
Mummy: can you move?
Evelyn: no

But of course after asking too many times perhaps you got bored so you teased me back by saying "ha" with a cheeky smile.
I'm glad to say that you behaved really well during the haircut and you look very nice.

This is your before and after picture:

Blur Case

Mummy picked you from school today. As you walked towards me, you realised that you had left your water in class. The teacher told you to take it tomorrow. So we went off.
Later when it was time to do your homework, you found out that it was not your water bottle that you had left behind. Instead, you had taken the wrong schoolbag! !!
So blur. Then again, I carried your bag to the car and even zipped up the bag and didn't notice the missing key chains on your bag. So who's more blur today?

Where's Our Lunch, Daddy?

Time to take some pictures while waiting for daddy to bring us our lunch.

Craft Time for Evelyn

Finally got a little time with you to introduce a little craft work. You had found some stickers which we had bought when we were in KL.
So I took a piece of paper and let you go crazy with the stickers.  You were ok to remove most of the stickers but some 'little girls' got chopped into half as you did not remove them carefully and tore them.  As for the smaller ones they got stuck to your fingers and had problems sticking them to the paper.
You were certainly proud of your artwork as you quickly showed daddy the masterpiece. You even took my phone and attempted to take a picture of your work.
