Hello Copenhagen

This was Mei-mei's nut free dinner. Not bad. You fell asleep after that. In fact, you slept most of the 12 hour flight to Copenhagen.
All fresh as we arrived at the airport. Here you are posing with the "Little Mermaid" at the airport.. (no, not the real one)
We took a taxi which could fit all 6 of us and our luggage to our hotel, The Square. As it was only 8am, our room was not yet ready. So we left our luggage at the hotel and headed out to wander around the city. First building we got to see was the City Hall:
There were many interesting sights. Here you are posing at the Caritas Fountain:
While we were walking, Ah Kong needed to answer the call of nature. So while daddy and him went off to look for a toilet, we waited at the Copenhagen Cathedral. It was beautiful (and warm) inside. After a while, we decided to wait outside. Managed to get this picture of the cathedral:

We then headed to the Round Tower. But it was too early and it also started to drizzle. So we hopped into a cafe nearby, Student Cafe to hide from the rain and also have a warm drink while waiting for the Round Tower to open.  We spotted a bookshop which had a lovely pencil case (which caught Mei-mei's attention) but was not yet open.
The round tower which can be clearly seen as we walked towards it:
The rain finally reduced to a drizzle and we quickly made our way to the Round Tower. Daddy was happy taking pictures with his new camera:
 View from the tower:
We headed to the church right next to the Round Tower, Trinitatis Church.

We then headed to Torvehallen as it was lunchtime and we were hungry. It started to drizzle as we arrived and felt rather cold. Lunch was.. um.. cold food.. sandwiches and buns. Then we quickly tried to make our way back to the hotel, in hopes that the room was now available.
Just as we were reaching, it started to pour. Daddy had to make a mad dash with Evelyn while the rest of us tried to quickly run to the hotel. Fortunately, our rooms were ready and we headed to the room for a nice warm bath.
We all took a nap (except for Ko-ko) and then woke up still feeling groggy so we agreed to buy dinner from the 7-Eleven right outside our hotel.
Very soon, it was time to call it a night. What a long day!!

Let the Holidays Begin

And so our holidays begin. Since our usual transporter was away on his own holidays, we had to make a separate arrangement. Daddy dropped Ko-ko, Mei-mei, Ah Ma and Ah Kong along with our luggage at the airport first. Then he got back and we both hopped into a Grab and headed to the airport.
We had enough time to eat the yummy curry noodles (first try was the wrong stall. Daddy tried another and voila.. that was the right one!!) in the airport, buy our cosmetics and alcohol and then headed to the terminal where we were to hop into the plane to Copenhagen. Too bad we didn't have enough time to visit the Jewel Changi.

2019 School Awards Night and Concert

The day started early in the morning as usual for Ko-ko as Awards Ceremony was held in the afternoon for secondary school. For Mei-mei, we dropped you at school only at 4p.m. all dressed and made up for the performance which was so start in the evening.
It was a uniquely planned performance. You participated in two dances for the evening. One was an Indian dance by year 1 students:
And another was an Egyptian dance by the dance club members:

And now that Awards night is over, the school holiday begins.

Oh My Boh Geh

Wanted to have a picture of you without your two front teeth. So while waiting for our lunch, I asked you to pose with your missing teeth, which you happily obliged.

That evening, as I was about to post to Instagram your toothless picture, you asked me to take another picture of you showing your FOUR missing teeth. So here is another boh geh picture:

All I Want for Christmas..

.. is my two front teeth...
Yup, halfway through tuition yesterday you came up to show me that your other front tooth has finally fallen off.
So we put your tooth into the little green bag and put it under your pillow. You seem to guess that I'm the tooth fairy, but you're still happy to put the tooth under your pillow since you'd get RM2 for that.
Almost forgot to do my toothfairy duty. Had to run upstairs halfway through breakfast to put in the cash *grin*

But makes my day better when it get's busy at work....

Cheeky monkey... always with a trick up your sleeves!

2019 Father's Day

It was a busy day for the kids. But luckily daddy was out having his durian feast, so we could slowly prepare the cards. Ko-ko had started the day before (after much reminders) and as usual Mei-mei was very fast as she just went with the flow.
Both adding finishing touches to their cards

Evan's card: He even added a cup of coffee

Evelyn's card: Had lucky 4 leaved clovers and 2 piggies which were "door knobs"

The inside of her card.

Happy Father's Day, daddy. Hope you had a great day complete with durians and beautiful cards

Oh.. Bou Geh again

The plan was to have a haircut, then have a (long overdue) photograph taken to be submitted to the school and then remove your tooth.
Well, noooOooo.... your tooth couldn't wait any longer so it jumped queue in the sequence falling off before we even headed out for the haircut. Oh well.. not everything goes as planned.
So you smiled without showing your teeth for the school photograph.
At home, I tried to get you to show me your toothless smile, but initially only got this:
I finally for a picture of your smile with the missing tooth.
I think the other front tooth will be falling off soon.

Tooth fairy duty tonight. Someone had told you there was no such thing as a tooth fairy. You kept asking me if I was the tooth fairy. I didn't give you an answer, but you were happy enough to receive the RM2 from the "tooth fairy" whoever that may be.

Science and Maths Fair

Today was the Science and Maths fair in school. As Ko-ko had to be in school early, he left the house with daddy to have Char Kuey Tiau for breakfast before daddy dropped him at school and headed for golf.
As for Evelyn, you only needed to be in school at 9.30 am, which was when the fair was officially open. So we both headed to school together. Ah Ma dropped us.
Left you in the classroom and later we both went to all the booths to collect the necessary stickers.
Decoration in front of the primary classroom
We had a lot of fun exploring the many booths:
Playing with the giant bubbles
Watching the elephant toothpaste demo
Testing your mathematical skills
Ta-da.. you completed all the tasks and now to guess what the word was
Yay! You guessed it.. and you got a diary as a present
As there was still time before dismissal, we headed to the MPH where they were having a demo by the Tech Dome. You soon realised that they would ask for volunteers. There was a moment when I could not locate you, only to discover that you had parked yourself right in front of the stage so that the man doing the demo would pick you.
After a while, you gave up and was about to try the Van DeGraaff generator when you heard him calling for volunteers and promptly ran towards the stage.
So here you are showing off your dry ice bubble:

Happiness
And since you were done, time to try out the generator again. As your hair was quite long, we can see it standing/stuck to the book being held:
Again before we left, you headed to the bubble area for more play before I finally managed to pull you away to Ah Kong who was waiting for us in the car.

Macaroni and Cheese

You love your food, especially when they are cheesy. This morning you decided that you wanted to have Mac and Cheese and also that you wanted to cook it yourself. So.. ta-da.. your baked and non-baked version. Great job cooking, Evan.

Oh, Sunflower

You had asked several times to plant a sunflower plant. So on one of the occasion that I went to Ace Hardware, I picked up a pack of sunflower seeds. You were all excited to plant it. While the instructions were quite tedious, we opted to just put the seed (even that was a dilemma.. do we plant it with the shell or not?? Ended up planting the whole thing) directly into the soil.
And voila.. after a few weeks.. your sunflower. You proudly took the pictures and had them sent to many people:

The plant has now died.. not sure if it grows just to flower once or because of the rainy weather. I asked if you wanted to plant another seed. You said yes, but not now as "it is a sunflower and it needs lots of sun. So we will wait for the rainy weather to pass."

Siblings

Some days your behavior makes my heart melt. Holding hands without my asking you to:
You can sit next to her closely and help her with her games:
And other days you both cannot stand the sight of each other.. makes me want to spew blood...

2019 Mother's Day

I'm such a lucky mummy. I received so many Mother's Day card from the both of you.
These are the cards from Evelyn: some made in school, some at home with Lau Shi. You were so excited to give them to me, you could not wait till Sunday to give them to me.

This is the card hand drawn (based on a Google search) by Evan after much reminders from daddy. It looks so professionally done.

Love you all for the cards.

Saturday Japanese Night Dinner

Ah Ma planned to cook Japanese for dinner on Sunday, but daddy convinced her to cook on Saturday so that we could have a leisurely dinner at home. So this is what she cooked:
Beef, stir fried vegetables, steam egg and rice. Missing from the picture is our salmon sashimi.

You insisted that you wanted rice ball (current favorite for the both of you). And I recalled I had a rice ball maker... so although it wasn't sushi rice, we made this:
Rice ball filled with salmon (fried) and wrapped in seaweed.

Happy Birthday Nanna

Happy Birthday Nanna...
We were not in BM on her birthday, instead we went earlier on Friday to celebrate Ah Chor's birthday. While waiting for everyone to arrive, we took some pictures. Here's a funny pose from the both of you:
 Gramy and Nanna also smiles:
