It's the weekend again

And another busy weekend it was. Ah Kong's friend, Uncle KK and his wife, Aunty Ruth was here to visit us from Singapore. They came with a large group of friends on Wednesday evening. But you only got to meet Uncle KK and Aunty Ruth on Saturday morning.

We were supposed to have dinner together on Friday evening but dinner was rather late, so we settle our own dinner. By the time the whole jing-gang arrived back at our house, you were already asleep as it was past 10pm. They had a "durian party" before going back to the hotel.

On Saturday, you woke up early, so mummy had to entertain you, had breakfast before Ah Kong took you out to play in the garden. He said that you refused to walk on the grass, suspecting that you didn't like the grass tickling your toes. So we let you wear your shoes and you happily played outside for a while until you got all sweaty. After you cooled down, mummy gave you a shower and we all got ready and off we went to the condo.

We had lunch at Great World Park then daddy drove us home, as he had a golf game and mummy thought that you would be tired, since you were up since 6am. And we predicted correctly, you slept before we reached home. But in total you only napped for 1 hour. By the time Ah Kong, Ah Mah, Aunty Ruth, and Uncle KK reached home, you were awake again. And so we went off with the 2 ladies for some retail therapy while the men went for golf.
Dinner was at Kashmir, the restaurant that serves the most delicious northern Indian food. Yummy. Too bad you could not take the food, as it was mostly spicy. So you had papadams. And you loved it too.
We had our Sunday brunch at our favourite kopi tiam near Jones Road. Daddy and mummy loves the char koey tiau. Yummy... and the coffee there is also the best. Yup, coffee.. mummy takes coffee mostly on weekends with my brunch. Luckily you do not react adversely to the coffee in my breast milk! Haha.. Ah Kong and Ah Ma had gone to join our Singapore visitors for Bah Kut Teh..
After that we went for a ride, looking at houses and just driving around aimlessly. You had fallen asleep and since it was still early, we bought some time for you to nap in the car. And luckily too, cause you woke up the moment we reached home. So you managed a nap for almost an hour.
We went with daddy to the golf course as Ah Ma needed a ride back. And since you had your afternoon nap, we went shopping. Ah Ma wanted to go to the hairdresser's so we were dropped at Gurney Plaza. Mummy bought a few things for you and walked around until it Ah Ma called. Went home to relax and play with you while Ah Ma went out again. We were supposed to have dinner with our visitors but while waiting for them, you fell asleep in the car. So we could not join them, but they managed to sneak a peek at you, and "ooh" and "aaahhh" over you.
Dinner was romantic hawker food with daddy and you *grin*. Ahh... another weekend has come and gone.

Passport

Ah.. we're getting ready for our trip to Singapore in October for Uncle Eu Jin and Aunty Lourdes' wedding. So the first step is to have your passport done. We brought you to the photo studio on Sunday evening after dinner to have your picture taken. You sat on mummy's lap while they took your picture. Daddy was standing behind the photographer trying to make you smile, but you gave them your most serious face. See:

Today, mummy printed out the necessary forms and photocopied all the documents so that we can settle it faster at the immigration office tomorrow. Hopefully we can pick up your passport on the same day too, since we only plan to take 1/2 day leave while Ah Ma goes for her check-up.

Introducing.. New food again

Today Ah Ma cooked a new dish for you again. It's stir-fried noodles. She bought the noodles from the organic shop as they were out of your mee suah. Mummy and daddy left work a bit late, so you were already bathed and waiting to be fed dinner.

Ah Ma boiled the noodles first before stir frying them in olive oil with some mince meat and cauliflower. On top of that, your soup was already cooked. It was ikan bilis stock with carrots and veggies.

Of course the task to feed you was mine to do. Luckily the bib that was used had a plastic backing. Otherwise, your shirt would have been very wet, as the soupd dribbled down your chin as mummy tried to feed you. Of course you happily took the soup especialyl when mummy showed you that it had the carrots in the spoon! You also loved the noodles, but as Ah Ma had to cook one whole piece, which was too much, daddy added some soya sauce to the balance and finished it. Mummy got to taste it too. It was yummy, and you even managed to finish almost half of the noodles along with a bowl of soup.

Doesn't this look yummy?

You're so lucky to have a wonderful cook like Ah Ma and daddy to prepare these food for you.

Busy Weekend

We left for the condo in a hurry on Friday evening as daddy was having a dinner with his friends nearby. Ah Kong and Ah Ma also had their own plans for the evening. So it was just you and me in the condo. Of course, mummy had to clean up the house a little as daddy's friends were coming over after dinner.

You behaved very well while mummy moped the house. Daddy had already helped to sweep the house while mummy was feeding you. Good thing about the condo is that there are no steps, nor fish ponds like our house. So mummy could go around and not worry about you. I was initially worried that you may slip on the wet floor, but I noticed that you will walk more carefully when mummy tells you that the floor is wet.

You were a little shy when daddy came over with his friends, but later you even let some of them carry you. Of course, you were smothered with kisses too!

Saturday was a lazy day. We relaxed around the condo in the morning, went out for lunch and while daddy and Ah Kong went for their usual golf game, we went out to run some errands with Ah Ma. Of course since it was your nap time, mummy had to carry you while you were sleeping. Ooh... my arms are still aching. Dinner was even nearby, at Tanjung Club.

Sunday was a little different. Ah Kong and daddy's game was in the morning. We slept in a little until we were woken (again) by the piling being done nearby. Sigh... After breakfast, we went out to pick up great-grandma's X-Ray from Adventist Hospital. Since we had to wait for an hour, the 3 of us went to the nearby Pulau Tikus market to buy some veggies for the week. After picking up the X-Ray, we went to buy lunch as daddy and Ah Kong were on the way home. We lazed around the house until late evening. But before we left, you had a "souvenir" from the kitchen door:

You did it yourself. Under whose watch, I will not mention. You opened the door into your own foot! Daddy could not understand how that could happen, as the door was very low, until he took a look at your little foot. Poor thing. You made a big fuss, but a closer look, showed only your skin came off.

I need... sleep

You kept mummy up for so long last night. You woke up at 2+ and only slept more than an hour after that. Daddy got up to carry you, but you looked at him and pointed to our bed, telling him you want to sleep on our bed!
And since you kept moving around our bed, mummy had to keep an eye on you. I was so worried that you might fall off the bed, even though you were wedged in between mummy and daddy. And you are really cheeky. You will not move for a while, tricking mummy into thinking you had fallen asleep and then just as I was thinking of moving you back to your cot, you start crawling around. You finally fell asleep lying right on top of mummy and I dare not move for quite a while to ensure that you were REALLY asleep.
Around 6am, you were up again to resume the torture session. Your eyes were wide open. And so you started to move around our bed again. Sigh...
Now I feel so sleepy. Lucky daddy. He slept early so he should not be as tired as mummy!

Riding the horse

It's been a long time since we took pictures of you. You either close your eyes when we take the picture, or too interested in the camera to allow us to take pictures of you. Tonight, mummy managed to take these 2 pictures of you while you were riding the horsey (daddy).

You both seemed to be having such a good time. You were laughing all the way:

Of course, everytime daddy stopped, you wanted him to repeat your "ride" on his legs again. And now, you are sleeping.. and so is daddy.. he must be tired out too.

And tonight's chef selection is...

We noticed that you didn't seem to be too enthusiastic about your dinner lately. So this morning, Ah Ma sugested that we made you cheese omlette. So we came back after work, mummy gave you a shower and daddy prepared dinner for you. The soup was already prepared by Ah Ma. It was chicken with tomatoes and carrots.

And let me tell you a secret, cheese omlette is mummy's all time favourite egg dish. And the best person to cook it is daddy. He cooked this specialty for mummy when we were studying in Australia and also when mummy was pregnant with you. See:

Looks yummy eh?

And your judgement for this dish?

Still trying to decide..
You didn't eat too much, or maybe one whole egg with one slice of cheese was too much for your little stomach. I guess we need to look for more varieties of food to cook for you.

Party Pictures

Here are the pictures taken when we had daddy's friends over to the condo:

Of sandwiches and soup...

Dinner was to be a simple affair today as Ah Ma said we've had a feast yesterday. So what did we have for dinner today? Sandwiches...

On top of that Ah Ma cooked soup. There were carrots, tomatoes, celery and chicken used to cook the soup. And she ladled out a little bowl for you before adding the salt to our soup. We were a little bit late preparing your portion of dinner as we had to bathe you first.

So what else did you have for dinner? We boiled an egg, mashed it and added some butter to it. On top of that, chef daddy toasted a slice of bread and melted some cheese before adding the eggs. Although you only ate half of the bread, you finished up all the soup. I'm sure you enjoyed your dinner, although it seemed little compared to your usual 1 1/2 bowls of moi moi.

But I'm having second thoughts about repeating this meal. Sigh.. such a messy affair!

Ah Ma's Dinner Party

Ah Ma cooked up a storm again today. She invited the Phuahs over for dinner today. Too bad not everyone could make it. Aunty Jamie had another pot luck to attend. But her yummy meat dish came for our party! Anna che-che is down with the flu and so Uncle Sin Jeow stayed at home to accompany her. But Uncle Sin Jeow managed to come over and join us as Anna was sleeping and Aunty Jamie had come home.

If you want to know what Ah Ma cooked, have a look:
Even Abby had dinner provided for. She ate the same moi as you, ikan bilis with baby corn. It seems it's the first time she's having baby corn.

After that you and Abby had a great time playing,each doing the same tricks as the other, showing how to sleep, clapping your hands...

It's Friday!

And where would be the best place to have dinner? TGI Fridays! Yeah.. Ah Kong had a house warming to attend and Ah Ma had something to attend. So she was planning to cook dinner late. Since that was the case, daddy proposed that we went out for a yummy dinner.
We all had a wonderful meal. Even you got to eat the food served there. Daddy had his usual steak, Ah Ma had lamb and mummy had chicken. Since you had a free kiddy meal, we picked the grilled cheese that came with fries. And my dear little boy, you loved the cheese sandwiches and also the fries. You helped yourself to the fries. Of course we had packed your own moi moi too, but you only ate a little, instead preferring the food served there! Good taste.
Of course since we were in Queensbay, we walked around a little and shopped a little. What a wonderful day to end our busy week.

I'm rich! I'm rich!

Ah.. of course that would be the first thing I would say if I suddenly got $1million. But.. I don't. Too bad. It's just a question posed by Aunty Joanne to me. So let's see what I would do if i had that $1million...

1. Go on holiday. First place I would like to go is to Italy. Of course, the trip would be pointless if you and daddy didn't come with me. So we will go on that long overdue honeymoon. Maybe we can go visit Tua Ku too..

2. Of course some of the money will be kept in the bank for future use along with invested to "grow" the money. After all you will need money for your education too.

3. Perhaps I would be able to realise my dream of being a PTWM. I'll be able to spend my time with you and yet have enough and don't have to worry about spending money...

4. Do a good bit of shopping for my favourite things and for my favourite people too...

5. Give some to the needy

Ok.. won't be tagging anyone this round, but if anyone would like to do so, feel free to continue from here:

Wonderful Wednesday...

We woke up early today as mummy had an appointment with Dr Ng today. We thought that you may have to stay at home with Ah Ma as you were still sleeping by the time mummy was ready and daddy was starting to wake up. But shortly after daddy went into the bathroom, you woke up. Yippee.. so you will be going with us to the hospital. Daddy is on leave today. We were a little late arriving at the hospital for my 8.45am appointment. Luckily Dr Ng still hadn't started seeing patients yet. We waited a while and soon, it was mummy's turn. So we all went into his room. Daddy told you that Dr Ng is the first person you met when you came into this world. Haha...

After the check, you were walking around his room and you even touched Dr Ng. No fears of him at all eh? Or maybe daddy was right, you "know" him after all..

We went for breakfast at our favourite coffee shop. You ate some of the pau and we were wondering where to go, as it was only 10am. In the end, we went to Gurney Plaza. Yay! Retail therapy for mummy. After some shopping, we headed home, as we did not bring your moi moi along with us. We left too early this morning. Before we reached home, you were already asleep. Since daddy wanted to try his luck to buy the latest Harry Potter book from Tesco, we dropped by Tesco on the way back.

Mummy carried you while we were shopping and we were in luck. We got the last issue at the outlet! Too bad you woke up while we were queuing to pay for our purchases. So we went home and fed you lunch.

Ah Ma wanted to buy "mee goreng" from Air Itam and off we went. We left daddy at home. He was glued to his book. No hope of getting him out of the house! After a relatively long wait, we bought our "mee goreng" and again you fell asleep before reaching home.

What a busy and long day. But it was fun, good company, wonderful food and best of all: retail therapy!

Haircut Disaster!

We have been putting off taking you to the hairdresser. Firstly the Bumbo was in the condo and we have not been to the condo for a while. Even when we did go, we forgot to bring it home!

We finally remembered to bring it back on Sunday. So the initial plan was to bring you for a haircut on Monday, but unfortunately mummy and daddy left work a little late. So we planned to leave work early today and bring you in for the haircut.

When we reached home, you were upstairs playing with Kakak Wati. So mummy dressed you and off we went to Uncle Austin. This would be your 4th time seeing him. I was hoping that this haircut would go as well as your last one. I could only dream. You sat willingly on the Bumbo but the moment Austin started cutting you hair and he let it drop on you, you started kicking a big fuss! Sigh... So it took us almost and hour to have your hair cut.

But it was a disaster. He had to stop occasionally to let you calm down from crying. The last cut was the end of it. You moved suddenly and the hair on the back of you head is now uneven. *sigh*

Ah Ma thought that you looked ok, but she exclaimed loudly and insisted that we took you back for another haircut. Sigh.. if only it could be so easy.. I think you already have a phobia of getting a haircut.

So mummy tried to do some damage control. Hehe... snip some of your hair while you were sleeping just now. But the gap is still rather visible. I think I need to snip another round or two more!

Monday Blues..

Several things happened today. To kick start the day, you decided to wake up early today. And of course, since you were up, mummy and daddy had to wake up to accompany you too. Soon, mummy had to get ready to go to work. You were watching TV with daddy while mummy was picking my clothes when we heard a "thud". You had somehow fallen off the bed. Of course, the "thud" was followed by loud crying from you. Poor little baby. Thankfully, you calmed down after a while. Of course a lot of distraction was needed to divert your attention from that fall. You seemed ok by the time we left. Busy asking for this and that from your high chair. Even happily waving to us and also giving us flying kisses.

Daddy was still worried to know how you were, so we went home for lunch.Of course when it was time to leave, you were not as willing to let us go off as this morning...
Another thing that we discovered was that you have been using the potty to do your poo. Clever little boy. And mummy was thinking the potty (that was bought when you were 10 weeks old, could not resist the WTP potty sold at Mothercare) would not be used. Unless we consider you using the potty as a stool as putting it to good use! Ah Ma said that you also used the potty last Friday. Too bad we missed that. Hopefully we can see you in action soon!

Also, today at work, Tua Ku called mummy to say gpodbye as he was flying off to US. He also asked mummy to give you a big kiss from him. So here you go: *KISS*

Playgroup ~ Finally..

A group of friends have been having a weekly playgroup for the children at Charlotte's house almost every Sunday. Too bad we've not been able to attend until today. Of course trying to get you to sleep would be a tough one, so Ah Ma took us our for a shopping trip. We picked grandaunt Doris and great-grandaunt Irene and off we went to Island Plaza. As expected, you fell asleep before we arrived. Too bad you only napped for 40 minutes and was up.

After our shopping trip, we dropped the aunts and also stopped to say hi to everyone at home before going home to get ready for your playgroup. As daddy and Ah Kong had gone off to play golf and they worried about mummy driving you alone to the playgroup, Ah Ma kindly volunteered to drop us at Charlotte's house. Charlotte's mummy Aunty Hooi Ling said that she was going to fill up a little pool and have bubbles for you all to play in. As you did not have bathers, mummy and daddy had picked up your swim diapers this morning when we went to pick up your Bumbo from the condo.

Too bad it rained heavily by the time we reached Charlottle's house. We were the first to arrive and Aunty Hooi Ling came out with an umbrella for us. Mummy packed the new toy that daddy bought for you a long with a little car that Ah Ma bought for you. Of course you were rather keen in Charlotte's toys too. Soon the rest of them came: Sze Yi, Hin Lerk, Ching Ern and Bryan. Everyone enjoyed themselves playing, although they were playing by themselves instead of with each other. Hopefully one day you little ones will know how to play together.
In fact, you had a little tiff with Sze Yi. You both wanted the Winnie the Pooh doll. Finally Sze Yi's mummy managed to convince her to share with you the doll. You all seem to love the WTP doll. I know I like WTP dolls too.. Even Ching Ern will kiss the doll and leave her drool all over it when neither you nor Sze Yi were playing with the doll.
We left shortly past 6pm as Ah Ma had to go home to cook for your hungry Ah Kong and daddy. They were already back from golf. You fell asleep in my arms shortly after we got into the car. Too bad you woke up when we reached home. So mummy quickly gave you a shower and fed you your mee suah dinner. After accompanying daddy, Ah Kong and Ah Ma to watch the British Open, we went up to sleep and soon you were in slumber land.
The end of a busy but fun day. Goodnight sweetie..

She ain't heavy...

Of course I'm not going to disclose my weight, but I'll just let you know that it's still within the "ideal" weight range. Don't believe me? Have a look:
Your Weight is Ideal

Your BMI is 21.3 - a healthy BMI falls between 18.5 and 25

Congratulations, you are the perfect weight for your height.

Even though you may not be entirely happy with your weight, you are healthy.

So gain or lose a few pounds if you want, but don't go too crazy!

Don't agree? Blame the government standards we based this test on!

Why did I do this test? Because Aunty Joanne kindly
tagged me to do this test. See? I can still go without a diet. Still don't believe me? Lookie here.. daddy can still carry me..

Ok ok.. i cheated and took a very old picture. I'll go home and ask daddy to try and carry me! Truth be said, mummy still have some excess that needs to be lost, even thought I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. But nope.. lazy me will be too lazy to go out to exercise. Chasing you around the house is tiring enough!

Tua Ku is back again!

Tua Ku was back this weekend as a final trip to Penang before he leaves for US for his studies. We will miss him while he's away for the next 2 years.
He came back on Friday evening, and so we were back in BM to visit him. Of course he had a list of food that he wanted to eat before he left for US. So ee-ee took him around to eat all those food that he wished to eat. For dinner, Nanna and Grampy cooked their famous "chicken rice". It's cooked in the rice cooker: rice cooker version of the claypot chicken rice.
You seem to be more comfortable in Nanna's house now days. And of course everyone knows the fastest way to get re-acquainted with you is to show you the light switches and voila, you're best buddies with whoever shows you the switches.
We didn't go over to BM on Sunday. Instead we relaxed at home and also had lunch and did a little bit of shopping in Queensbay Mall.
As Monday was a replacement holiday for daddy and mummy, we spent the morning running errands with Ah Kong and Ah Ma: going to the bank and paying some bills. After lunch, you fell asleep in your car seat, and so after dropping Ah Kong and Ah Ma home, we headed for BM. Since you were still asleep, daddy took us for a drive to Jawi on the highway and then back to BM using the old trunk road. And so, you got to nap for almost an hour.
We picked up Ah Ku, Nanna and Grampy and dropped them off at Queensbay Mall for them to do some shopping while we went home to relax and get you bathed and to bring your dinner. We picked them up and brought them to daddy's favourite restaurant, Tong Hoi. Dinner was yummy and it was time to head to the airport. Ah Ku was going back to Singapore. He's got a lot to do before he flies off next Monday.
We'll miss Ah Ku, but he'll always be in contact with us, through this blog, and maybe next time you can chat with him, like you chatted with daddy on Skype when he was in Japan. *kisses and hugs to Ah Ku*

Daddy's home!

Daddy came home today. He's been in Japan for the past 4 days only, but it seems like an eternity to all of us. I'm sure you missed him, but luckily there's Skype that we could chat over.

After work, we had dinner and off we went to the airport with Ah Kong and Ah Ma. You were falling asleep on the way to the airport, but you became alert again when mummy told you we were going to pick up daddy from the airport.

We were dropped off at the airport to wait for daddy as his flight had just arrived while Ah Kong and Ah Ma waited for us in the car elsewhere. After a while daddy finally emerged. He was one of the earliest passengers to come out, probably because he did not have to wait for his bags. We stood almost right in front of daddy, but he did not see us. We could see him scanning around, looking for us, but still missed us. Mummy tried to get you to call daddy, but you just stared at daddy!

Luckily when daddy spotted us, you seemed ok with him. In fact, you even let daddy carry you. We got into the car and went home.
So what did daddy get for you from this trip? Have a look:
And what did mummy get? Something that daddy says I have too many of:
*Kiss*kiss* to daddy for the wonderful gifts to us!

Hi-Tech Baby!

Daddy had been wanting to speak to you on Skype for the past few days, but on Monday, you were fell asleep when we took you out to the bank. On Tuesday, daddy had dinner with his counterparts so by the time he went online, you were long in your little dreamland. In fact, mummy was also 40% into dreamland when daddy came online.

So tonight, daddy was online earlier. Around 9pm and you were still awake. He managed to have a conversation with you for around 10 minutes. Or maybe more of daddy speaking to you. But you did occasionally whisper your "da-da" along with several "hi" to daddy.

Other than that, you seemed more interested in the notebook. Pressing all the buttons and you got even more engrossed in that button that turns off the monitor of the notebook! I'm sure you will be a very PC savvy baby. You started at a young age of 9 months. Have a look:

What happened today?

Well, we did a few things today:
- Finally turned your car seat to forward facing. Aunty Wooi Sin said that you were probably bored when you sat in the car seat, facing backwards and having nothing to look at. Also mummy noticed that your feet are about to touch the back of the seat in the car. So after daddy turned the seat around, we took you out for a spin, and you did not complain.
- Had a different thing for dinner. Mee suah soup, with ikan bilis stock and lots of veggies. This is actually not the first time you were given mee suah. But is it the first time mummy is feeding you the mee suah. You didn't seem to really like it, but after a while, you finished the whole mee suah and on top of that asked for soup, and more soup. I guess you will be a soupy person like Ah Kong and mummy.
- We took you out for a ride and to buy tau chui (soya bean water) and tauhwa. Daddy was a but reluctant to let you try tauhwa, but sneaky daddy gave you some when mummy went upstairs. Guess how I found out? When you went back to daddy and asked for more! Haha.. we gave you some of mine that was sugarless. You loved it.
Daddy left for Japan tonight. So it's you and me this whole week, little boy...

It's Party Time!

It seems that today is an auspicious day. There are mass weddings and lots if birthday celebrations today. Even the newspaper had a countdown to today: 07-07-07

Anyway, as you know we could not make it for
Ching Ern's birthday party, we had our own party at the condo. Daddy was having his friends over for a gathering. It could even be called a "baby gathering" just like the gathering we had before with mummy's friends. In fact, this was an even bigger gathering in terms of the number of children/babies that were present. But they are of a bigger age group. In the first gathering, you were one of the elder children, this time, you are the third youngest baby there. The other two are Kelvin (who turns 9 months old today) and Uncle Han's daughter who is only 3 months old.

We waited for you to take your nap at home, before packing up and heading to town to the money changer and to buy some drinks and party goods at Giant. After that we headed to the condo. The moment we reached, mummy and daddy got busy cleaning up the condo a little. By the time we were done, our first guests arrived. Soon everyone arrived and Ah Ma and Ah Kong arrived with the food that she prepared (salad, pork rendang and Fried squids). As usual, we ordered from our favourite pizza place, "Papa Pizza" who delivered. Ah Ma went to pick up friend beehoon and belacan friend chicken. On top of these, we had cakes that Aunty Cath brought and also fruits that Aunty Joanne brought.

The children seemed to enjoy themselves playing with your toys. In fact, Ah Kong even brought back a new toy for you from Singapore. I'm sure Ah Kong missed you too much and could not wait to show you what he got you. On top of that, he even bought you a cool pair of jeans and T-shirt. Wow! Lucky Evan...

Everyone seemed to have a great time, the children and the adults. It has been a long time since we all gathered. The last time was at TGIF when you were a lot younger. Even then, not all of them brought the children. It was a bigger group tonight.

Mummy prepared some fish porridge cooked with french beans today. Luckily mummy cooked extra. As usual, Kevin was served with my porridge (veggies only.. before mummy put in the fish). Even Uncle Brandon's younger son ate some of mummy's cooking. Luckily I did not get any negative feedback from my young "customers". Hhmm.. or is it because they are unable to complain...

We took lots of pictures, but it is not with our camera as mummy forgot to pack the camera when we left the house. Luckily there were several camera phones and Uncle Brandon brought a camera too. So hopefully everyone will be able to send me the pictures and I can post them here.

Mummy is so proud to say that you were a good boy and were not too much of a superglue tonight. In fact, sometimes you could even play with the toys and mummy could go off to do some things, and you would not cry when I was missing.

To our surprise, you were so tired today that you fell asleep even before our guests left. I thought that you would have been too excited to fall asleep. You fell asleep around your usual time: 10pm.

Evan @ 15 months..

Ah.. a little overdue, but hey, better late than never. Time for your 15th month report card. So how have you grown from the last time mummy updated your milestones?

~ weight: 9.6kg. Lost weight since you fell sick. You went up to 9.8kg at one stage. *sigh*
~ you are walking more steadily now. But when you are sleepy, you get walk like a drunkard, stepping on everything, and even walking into chairs.
~ naps are now only once a day. Your nap time is now usually in the afternoon. You naps can last from 45 mins up to 2 hours. Of course, when you are asleep, Ah Ma has to watch "silent movies" (TV with virtually no volume). Most importantly of all, even Furbie has to be quiet.
~ drinking from the cup.. ah.. you love to do that. Even more when the cup is our glass cup.
~ speech is very limited. But you love to torture mummy still. Whenever I ask you to call mummy, the response from you will be a whispered "dah dah"!
~ you have been introduced to some of the food that we take. In fact you got to sample some of Ah Ma's delicious roast chicken today.
~ nowadays mummy will sometimes give you a shower rather than put you in the bathtub. You seem to prefer the shower to the bathtub anyway.
Hhmm... i cannot think of anything at the moment, too sleepy. Will write another post if I think of anything else, or if daddy (the big critic) has more to add.

Special Evening

Since Monday is a special occasion and daddy would not be around, we decided to go celebrate it today. Where else, but at TGI Friday's in Queensbay. Mummy and daddy left work around 5.30pm so that we would have enough time to bathe you and for us to have a bath too before going to Queensbay. As always we are greeted by a cheerful you when we reached home.

After everyone was ready, we left for Queensbay. As expected, you whine and complained a lot while seated in the carseat. I think we need to change the direction of the carseat!

We arrived just on time, as mummy had already called in the afternoon to make a reservation. The moment we were seated, we made our selection of food and also ordered spaghetti for you. Of course mummy had brought along your porridge. So we started you off with porridge until your spaghetti arrived. You happily ate some of the spaghetti, until you decided that you had enough. And so you ate a bit more of your porridge and finished the remainder of the bread that came with your spaghetti.

After dinner, it was time for some retail therapy. Mummy bought a pair of shoes and a purse while daddy bought himself a shirt as he needed to wear (more) decent clothes for his trip to Japan! Final stop was to buy a present for Ching Ern. It's her birthday party on Saturday. Although we will not be able to make it, we bought her a present. I hope she likes it. This is what we got her:

It was a long night but you were a good boy this whole evening. You were well behaved throughout dinner, giving hi-5's to the waiters, you sat in the stroller while we went shopping, you stretched your legs a bit at Hallmark and happily sat in the stroller when it was time to so back to the car.

By the time we reached home, you were already asleep. Too bad you woke up and played a while more before continuing your zzzzzzz! What a perfect evening, great dinner, wonderful company and retail therapy to top it off.. *grinning from ear to ear*

By the way, if you're wondering what the occasion is, you should know by the time you're old enough to read this blog. As for those who are supposed to know, so here's the reminder to you! *wink* I won't be disclosing what the occasion is here!

Made Daddy's Day!

Poor daddy have been working late for the past 2 days. And yesterday when daddy came home at close to 8pm, you were so happy. And best of all when he carried you, you gave him a few of the sweetest, juiciest kisses on his cheeks! What a clever boy. You sure know how to make his day. Tired as he may be he was certainly a happy daddy!
Then when mummy put you to sleep, you had to roll around the bed looking for a comfy spot, and guess where it was? Next to your already sleeping daddy. You had to put your hand on his arm to fall asleep. So adorable!!

At Home with Evan..

Daddy is having a busy week today. So mummy went home with Ah Kong during lunch time today. When we arrived home, you were having your bum cleaned. Just poo-pooed.

While mummy and Ah Kong had our lunch, you sat on your high chair, eating some apple. After a while you got bored and luckily Ah Kong had finished his lunch, so he kept you entertained until mummy was done with my lunch.

After that, we lazed around the house for a while, and it was mummy's turn to follow you around the house. You picked up the lotion and Ah Ma told you to put it back where you took it. At first, you looked like you wanted to refuse to put it back. You stood there holding the bottle and looking at it. After a while, you decided to be a good boy and put it back. So everyone said that you were such a clever boy. You also agreed that you were a clever boy, as you clapped your hands and grinned too!

What a wonderful lunch break I had today.. Of course the difficult part of it is saying goodbye. You cried when mummy had to go back to work. Sigh.. you win some, you lose some.. I miss you already.

7 Habits of A Highly Adorable Furbie

Ah.. you may well know that our little Furbie was de-throned was the "king of the house' upon your arrival. Well, let's move over for a moment and let Furbie have the limelight this time, as requested by Aunty Joyce. She wants to know 7 random things about Furbie.

1. Furbie is 42 doggy years old, come this September. Yup, rather old boy already.

2. He has a strict diet of biscuits for breakfast and wet food with rice at 7pm sharp. He knows when it's time for dinner. He will wait patiently at the door for Kakak Wati to bring him his food. He used to be able to take fruits but we stopped giving him when he had tummy problems. But nowdays, we have started giving him fruits again. Sigh.. he wants to have fruits too, since he sees that you are also having fruits.

3. He's potty trained, so he will do his business inside his cage. Don't know how Seh Ku did it, but Furbie was potty trained within a week. He will even go to the toilet and wait o have his bum cleaned.

4. And while we're on this topic, Furbie also loves to "recycle". Sigh.. if we do not pick up his poo immediately, you will notice that only some are left. Guess where the rest have gone to...

5. Furbie is still very precious to mummy, although mummy feels guilty that I cannot give him as much attention as I could before. So he goes for his grooming sessions regularly to keep him looking as cute as ever. On top of that, Wati ties up his hair every morning.

6. Furbie cannot stand noise. If the doorbell rings, or anyone horns at the gate, he would bark and bark and bark just to let you know someone is downstairs. He used to be great company to grampy as he would bark at grampy to tell him that the house phone is ringing.

7. Most importantly of all Furbie adores you. He will let you bully him. I've seen you kick him, and yet he will just walk away. I think any other dog would have given you a closer look at their teeth, but not Furbie. When you were young, he would always sleep near your cot when you were sleeping.

And so you see, this is our cute little Furbie. Mummy thinks you love him as much as he loves you, as when you walk around and spot Furbie, you would stop and sit right in front of him, and sometimes try to pet him too. Of course, your a bit chor-lor (rough) and you even tried several times to pull his fur. Actually, you did get a few bunches of his fur!
Not going to tag anyone.. but I wonder if Aunty Joanne would like to tell us about her 3 little monsters at home (not Kelvin... the dogs at home: Maggie, Mimi and BoyBoy)

Who's your mummy?

I'm the mummy, of course. Who else can be your mummy? Anyhow, Wei Xuan's mum tagged me and I'm supposed to decide between being a full time working mummy (FTWM) or a stay at home mummy (SAHM). Of course, there is the in-between that is to be a part time working mummy (PTWM). Ah.. and of course making a decision is very difficult and so this time, I'll be the fence sitter (OK fine, you can call me greedy) and opt to be a PTWM if I have to make a choice. That way I get the best of both worlds.Now let me tell you why I would like to be a PTWM (although I have no idea what part time job I can hold for now):

Firstly I would get to spend more time with you at home. I get the best of both worlds as in having quality and quantity time to spend with you. Who would not want to spend more time with you? After all you are only this little once in your life. Don't want to miss out on too much of your childhood. On top of that I get higher quantities of kisses and hugs from you! Double wow!

Being a part time mummy would mean I still have some income, so I get to indulge in you and me occasionally. Mummy would still be able to buy nice things for you. Then again, there's always that trusty supplementary credit card that daddy have given to me *wink*

Get to retain a wide network of friends who have different interests. Hey, by being in-between of being a FTWM and a SAHM, I get to meet other people who work and also other mummies when you go to school.

I have another point for being a PTWM. I get to learn from Ah Ma how to cook her yummy dishes. Hink Lerk's mummy commented once that Ah Ma must be a great cook, since she cooks up a storm every time there is a party. By the way, her seasoning for BBQ are to die for. I'm sure daddy would be glad of this point too, since he keeps asking me when I will be learning to cook for him. In case you don't know, he did most of the cooking when we were studying in Australia. Daddy's a good cook too.

~~~Instructions~~~
Here’s how it works:
1. So easy peasy, if you were given a choice, would you be a SAHM or FTWM? Just provide 3 darn good reasons.
2. Include your post link to the list below and Finally,
3. Tag another three mommies
1. Immomsdaughter prefers to be a SAHM
2. Miche prefers to be a SAHM too.
3. SYH prefers to be a PTWM
4. Everydayhealy prefers to be a SAHM
5. Angeleyes prefers to be WAHM
6. Giddy Tiger prefers to be an SAHM
7. Jin Miin prefer to be a PTWM
8. Angie perfers to be a PTWM
Now who shall I tag?
  1. Joanne (you knew this was coming eh?)
  2. Tiffany (how about another tag?)
Ok 2 will do.. I cannot think of anyone else to tag.. for now.
Who is 15 months old?
You, Evan, turn 15 months old today. Such a big boy.
Mummy has so many thoughts as you turn 15 months old. Is it time to introduce formula milk to you? Are you ready for it? What brand shall I give you? Sigh.. our little baby is growing so quickly.
Busy Evening..
Mummy and daddy had to rush back after work today and do a mad rush to get everything ready before leaving the house. Mummy went home and gave you a shower then daddy fed you while mummy took a bath and mummy took over after that. We quickly ate our dinner and we were off.
First stop: photo studio. We finally have an appointment to pick the pictures that were taken quite a while back. The people there were NOT efficient. Our pictures were not ready. In fact, we had to wait a while to be served. And when we were finally served the lady could not find the file with your pictures. By then we were getting angry as we had to go to Adventist Hospital after that. So when they finally found the pictures, we did a quick one and ended up with 10 extra pictures along with the free 8R photograph. Daddy paid and we rushed to Adventist Hospital.
Second stop: Adventist Hospital. Daddy dropped us at the lobby and we quickly went to Paeds Clinic. There we SO MANY people waiting for their turn. The nice nurse who could recognise you told mummy we had to wait for 9 people before our turn! So in while waiting for your turn, we were kept busy by you, walking around, playing with daddy, looking at the fish. We even met Kelvin, and his mummy and daddy, and Aunty Cath along with Beatrice, Bernice and Uncle Andrew.
It was finally your turn to see Dr Mary. She checked you and you seemed fine. She asked about your diet and she still insists that we can introduce to you our food. Now that you're a big boy, she said that we should wait for her to be ready with the needle before mummy brings you over to the table/bed. She said that you would be able to recognise it now. Before giving you the jab, she asked if you had been exposed to eggs. She explained before that MMR contains eggs, so we needed to feed you eggs first. And we have been feeding you eggs a few times over the month. Of course, you protested and screamed when she poked you. But after daddy carried you for a while, you calmed down and we left after paying.
Luckily mummy brought along your PJs. We changed you and by the time we got home, you were already in zzzzz-Land
What a way to kick start a Thursday!
How? You are wondering? Of course the timing of you waking up is "wonderful".. sigh.. at 6.50am this morning. But you grinned when you woke up and then...
You gave mummy a big, loud kiss on my forehead. And when mummy looked at you, you gave me several more kisses. Aaawww... you're so sweet. And of course, your mummy is NOT selfish, so I asked you to give daddy a big kiss too.
And of course, you did. But before that, you gave him a big smack on his face! Haha.. wake him up to ensure daddy knows that you give him a big kiss right?
It has been a long week for mummy and daddy, and any amount of kisses, be it real or flying kisses, coming from you really make our day! *Muakksss to you, sweetie*
Introduction of a new dish..
Aiyo... didn't have time to take a picture of your new dish that Ah Ma cooked up for you. Mummy and daddy left the office late today, so we rushed home, mummy gave you a shower (yup.. shower) while daddy mashed your food.
Boy.. did you love your new dish. It was a combination of US russet potato (3/4), chicken and some carrots. So colourful and you even got to drink some of the soup. Initially, you were very interested in the mash potato and did not want the soup, but after all the potato was polished, you also drank whatever soup that daddy took for you.
And on top of that you ate some sliced apples. Mummy cut them and gave them to you and of course, greedy you had to stuff them all into your mouth. I think it's better for us to feed you!!
Wonderful weekend with Ah Ku and Uncle Troy
Ah Ku will be moving to the US soon. Why? Because he's going to realise his dream of obtaining his MBA. He managed to get into his first choice school: Wharton. So he came back to spend some time over the weekend with us. And Uncle Troy who came from US also dropped by to see us. We woke up on Saturday morning, had our breakfast and got ready as we were to pick up Uncle Troy. Ah Ku had arrived the day before and was at home helping Nanna and Grampy out, in preparing for Poh Piah. It was his special request for the weekend.
When 4ee poh, 4 teo kong, your 2 Ah Chors and your uncles (Ashley and Julian) came over for lunch, you were a bit shy and stuck to mummy most of the time as daddy had gone off for his golf game. But after they left, you warmed up to Ee-ee (again), Nanna, Grampy and Ah Ku. You played with them, let them show you the light switched and even tried to push Ah Ku while he rode on your buggy. And you ate a lot of biscuits too! See:
We had poh piah for dinner again. So while daddy was eating, mummy and Seh Ku (Alex) entertained you and fed you the moi moi that Grampy had cooked for you earlier. You were a good boy and sat (and stood) on the sofa throughout the whole meal. And you finished all the moi moi that was cooked for you. Clever boy!
On Sunday we left Penang only around 2pm. Daddy had an early morning golf game. You also woke up when he woke up. Sigh.. so you napped that morning before daddy came back. We had lunch with Ah Ma and Ah Kong in mummy's favourite place, Queensbay Mall before heading to BM. We were due for a family photo shoot.
When we arrived at the studio, of course you decided to be mummy's superglue and so I had to carry you. You wouldn't even let daddy carry you when the photographer asked us to let someone else carry you! Sigh..
We went home and since you didn't want to take a nap, we had more photographs taken: (camerawoman was ee-ee and ah ku) Posing with Ah Ku
With Nanna and Ee-ee
So went to Tambun (ee-ee and Nanna's favourite place) for dinner as Ah Ku wanted to show Uncle Troy all the different types of seafood that we have. Dinner was good but it was a bit hot and towards the end, daddy turned on the aircon in the car and we both sat in there as your whole head was already wet by then.
We went home to Penang shortly after that. You were tired and Ee-ee had already gone home too. She needed to sleep as she stars work early everyday.
Phew.. what a long and busy weekend.
